Kaufman's Bagel & Delicatessen

We drove from Genoa City Wisconsin because we heard how delicious everything was. We were NOT disappointed. The meat on our sandwiches, one corned beef and one pastrami, was piled high! Homemade brined pickles and bakery items exceeded our expectations. Worth the drive and we will be back.

This place makes the BEST sandwiches and their meats are top notch. Everytime we go to Chicago, we stop here to get sandwiches.

Excellent Ruben sandwich. Piled high with corned beef. So tender, juicy, and delicious. One sandwich fed two of us, but leftovers would have been good too. A true Jewish Deli. Definitely worth a try.

I can’t begin to say how incredible Kaufman’s is. We had a Jewish/Italian wedding, and it was important to me that we had Jewish cookies as part of the desserts with Italian cookies for my wife. Well, they delivered. The cookies were such a hit that my 95-year old grandpa was eating the rugelach days after! Also, for the cake, we ended up with a delicious chocolate cake with buttercream. To be clear, my wife normally doesn’t like chocolate cake and thought this cake was delicious! Also, we asked if there was any way that we could have rainbow in a chocolate cake. It seemed impossible to us. However, the baker at Kaufman’s was able to do a layer of rainbow icing between the cake layers! It was such a wonderful treat to see and they were a delight to work with. We spent a lot of time talking to Bette at Kaufman’s and she’s great. She’s very transparent about price and gave us a huge tasting to begin with. (Seriously soooo many cookies.) I can’t recommend Kaufman’s enough.

Also, their bagels. Need I say more.

Awesome deli. Back in the area for a reunion and went back through the North Shore to see some of the old stomping grounds. Drove past Kaufman’s and decided to stop for a sandwich. Outstanding. Big and the pickles are great.

I called for to order a pickup order and was kind of shocked on how I was getting spoken too. It was rude and kind of rushed, but I did realize they closed in 40 minutes so it was kind of my fault. When I went in to get the food i was more than pleased with the costumer service. It is a little on the pricier side but if you perfect your order you will have a great meal!

Limited seating, just a counter facing the street with a few stools. It's designed as a deli/market/bakery. We had a wonderful pastrami sandwich and two sodas, Dad's Root Beer and a Bubble Up.
