I have been to a few revolving sushi spots, this by far, tops all of them! All of the seafood was fresh and tender. Soooo delicious. I ate enough for 2, and I went alone. Easy to pop open the tops and fun to order off the menu. Loved that there was an slot to get rid of your plates so they don’t stack up. Would absolutely go again.

I’ve been here twice with friends and family and I absolutely love this place. The sushi is not the best or highest quality but it’s definitely good and you will still enjoy whatever you get. It’s such a fun experience, I would recommend this to anyone to try at least once. Although, beware of how many plates you grab because the price definitely adds up without you noticing.

I have come here many times. I do like its location. The sushi moves a little slow, which is good it means that they have a lot of options and it also means that a lot of things are gone by the time they get to you. They do have a touchscreen so that you can order food. That is how you get ramen, drinks and a lot of rolls. I do like the option for light rice. However, the miso soup is very seaweedy. If you would like better quality sushi, I would suggest Sushi Station but I will keep coming here and enjoying the food.

My first time at Kura was in Cupertino, CA and it was great so I was excited one was opening in Skokie. I've been frequenting the Skokie establishment regularly since it's grand opening. I have eaten here at least 50 times so far as I used to come weekly but over time, I come less often. I would've given 3.5 to 4 stars overall when they first opened but today (Sept. 2025), I'd give them 2-1/2 stars. Why? The overall service has improved but the quality of the food (specifically raw fish and dishes with cooked beef) has dropped significantly. All of the sushi used to be okay but now, I often get chewy pieces or ones that should've been rejects. Also, they keep increasing pricing while serving less fresh/quality fish so the meals are getting to be even worse in value. Their ramen, fried chicken, other hot dishes, and charbroiled mackeral are safer bets. I continue to come here (cutting back to once a month or two) because my kids enjoy their ramen as they are kid friendly.

Went here for the first time with a group of friends. It was truly an unforgettable experience. The hostess explained the process super well so I wasn’t confused at all (I was scared I’d be confused LOL) and it was soooo fun. The sushi was excellent too. I thoroughly enjoyed dining here and would recommend it to anyone. FYI, if the toy dispenser at your table is empty, don’t worry. If you tell an employee they’ll get you toys! Ours was empty but they took care of it no problem. I really loved this place!!!

The service is very good- they explain how the ordering process works. The selection of sushi isn't that diverse. They only serve 2 plates of a particular sushi at a time. Which really isn't too big of an issue, but you ABSOLUTELY have to keep in mind where you are sat. I was the last person seated in the section line, so I got the last pick after everyone else. I had to wait multiple passes for something I really wanted. I was surprised to see that a few of the plate buttons were broken!! So I couldn't get that sushi because the bubble wouldn't pop open! Ordering off the menu is fun. The drinks are good as well.

The space is lovely and modern, though the sushi feels more like supermarket sushi.

Honestly it’s ok. Half the stuff on the rotary belt were filled with rice so it’s not really worth it. The taste of everything was just very mid. You also have to pretty much do everything yourself in terms of service. Just skip this and get all you can eat.
Japanese style conveyor belt food display.
