Bagels were very good! They don’t serve sandwiches or serve them hot or sliced here. We had to take them home to do all that which was a little disappointing. But let me reiterate, bagels are very good!

I recently visited this spot and tried the Nova Lox Bagel. While the bagel itself was fresh and well-toasted, the salmon was a letdown. Nova lox is typically known for being less salty than regular smoked salmon, but in this case, it was overly salty and overwhelmed the other flavors. The toppings, like cream cheese, capers, and onions, were well-balanced, but the saltiness of the salmon really detracted from the overall experience.

I also decided to try the apricot cookie, but that turned out to be a mistake. I was surprised to learn it cost nearly $5—far more than I expected for a single cookie. Unfortunately, the taste was disappointing; it was so unpalatable that I couldn’t even finish it. The texture was dense and off-putting, and the apricot flavor was barely there. It felt like a waste of money, and I left feeling dissatisfied.

The prices were reasonable for the bagel, but the quality didn’t fully match my expectations. As for the cookie, it was overpriced and not worth trying again. Overall, a mixed experience—there’s potential, but the execution fell short.

These are the best bagels available anywhere, and even better when they are freshly made like they were at 6:15 this morning. The team has changed over the 50 years I've been buying from them, but they are always polite, professional, friendly and know their product. NY B&B is the standard by which I judge every bagels I buy and not many measure up.

Parking: Parking is right in front of the store, easy to get in and out.

Wheelchair accessibility: Parking and entry are wheelchair accessible.

Aggravated that new ownership would fire the person that had established relationships with people there for over 15 years.

Additionally, they now charge 4% for a credit card when swiped rates to a business are under 2%. I asked why 4% and got a snotty answer. The bagels and cream cheese are still good but it's sad that they'd let go someone that ran the place for years.

It's not the money but the principal that they are making money if you charge your purchase. Next they will ask for a tip.

The quality has gone down. Some bagels are huge and some are the size of hard boiled eggs. Do they not portion/ weigh out each bagel?

Best bagels that I've had in Illinois. Their chive cream cheese is amazing, the closest thing to a New York bagel. It's a definite staple in our house.
