TL;DR: Crazy Greek used to be amazing when it first moved into the neighborhood. Fall of 2023, I have no idea what happened, but the food here is now awful. I suspect the restaurant was sold or something, because I have had 3 consecutive experiences that shows a gradual decline in the quality/prep of the food. This place has been on a gradual decline. when it first opened up it was great-- it was instantly my favorite (basic) burger place, not just in the neighborhood but city wide. it was a no- frills legitimately great burger. a little messy, but in the best way. grilled just perfect and everything together was so juicy and flavorful. i went here maybe every month or two months as a treat. I even put up with their bogus ordering system (can't place order over the phone, they use an ordering platform that literally no other restaurant uses. Their online menu had this bonkers format that made no sense at all so you could find anything easily etc...their name doesn't betray their methods) but I put up with all of the little nonsenses bc the food was just absolutely tremendous. First time something kinda wrong happened, I didn't think much of it. I remember ordering my usual (cheeseburger with everything) and getting a piece of lettuce as tall and wide as my thumb (I'm a petite person, so SMALL), it was comical and I laughed about it. Still tasted good.Second time back there to pick up my order a lady was complaining in the store about stuff missing from her order and I didn't think anything of it, either-- it happens. Took my order home and found they forgot to include my extra order of fries, my burger patty was charred to a CRISPY PUCK, and I got the same comically small lettuce (if lettuce was the only issue I would have kept my sense of humor about it). But the meat was like pure charcoal. In that same order, both of my buddies got Philly cheesesteaks, and they both complained how extremely salty the beef was. I thought they were exaggerating, I tried it, and they were not kidding! It was like Crazy Greek used half a container of Morton's salt in the batch. It was inedible, it made my lips and throat tingly and dry from the saltiness. My buddies didn't want to trouble me on a refund for their food, but I was not going to pay for something I didn't receive. I called CG to get a refund at least for the missing fries, or to ask if I could come get the bag they missed. They were genuinely apologetic (I think they were aware that they were having an off night, new person perhaps?) and they told me to just "come into the store sometime in the next week and they'll give me a free bag of fries". I accepted this, I asked if they wanted to take down my name for reference. They didn't want to take my name down. I didn't trust that they would remember or honor it without my name and then I'd be just a person walking in demanding free fries out of the blue. I just let it go.I decided to give them one last try a month later. I was nervous bc of the last time. But I know people have off nights and it's not likely to repeat. Just in case, I ordered extra lettuce on my burger. Thank goodness I did because they gave me what I consider a normal amount of lettuce-- the amount it used to be before the one piece of thumb sized lettuce leaf became a repeat thing. And sadly, the patty was almost as charred as the last time. The patty was dry and mostly burnt, but you could taste a little bit more meat. If it has stayed in the grill a moment longer there would have been no meat flavor left. My husband's chicken Philly was different from the way it usually is. They changed the chicken from being chunks of chicken, to more like a pulled/ minced chicken consistency -- kinda weird for a chicken philly. He said flavor was "meh". It looked more like chicken salad hoagie than anything, luckily it wasn't salty. I also noticed that their prep area in the store was in complete disarray. It used to be far more orderly and organized. There was also just random

I ordered their Merkt's Cheddar Spread and Bacon Fries and this is what I received (not pictured is the one slice of flabby bacon that was laid on top). The pool of grease covering about a third of the fries at the bottom of the container made it completely inedible. So gross, will not order again.

CROOKED BUSINESS PRACTICES. I ordered and paid on-line. For whatever reason, they closed early that evening, so when I went to pick up my food they were closed.Owners refused to refund my money, telling me to call the bank. I asked them to just make the order and showed them a printout of the transaction. They restated "call the bank and they will refund you."I explained to them that this is not how restaurants work in America, but they do not understand good business practices.

Made our food even when we walked in late. We had the Spicy Gyro and Philly Cheesesteak. Both are delicious. Lovely people. Great service.

I walk by in the evenings and the shop is usually pretty dead but I've been curious how their food is. They have tvs for the menu above the counter, but they were turned off tonight so I had to choose from their point of sales machine. No pictures, and a lot to dig through so I went for a simple sandwich. It was a bit unnerving that they had no music playing in the restaurant either. It seemed like the cook behind the counter was a bit inexperienced, and the man who took my order was maybe coaching him?My gyro was ok. The pita was a bit on the small side, and the meat was a little extra toasty which is to be expected if it's a dead evening. They really loaded it up with meat, almost enough for two sandwiches, and the onions and tomatoes were fresh looking, but they forgot the tzatziki sauce! A genuine tragedy, as a good sauce can make or break a gyro. Other reviews mention the sauce so I assume it was just an honest mistake by a person still in training.

The gyro has a lot of meat, but is very sloppy and they forgot the tomatoes. No ice for canned soft drinks.

Watched them turn on the open sign and decided to go in. Clean store, amazing food! Watching them shave the meat off the veal was a first time experience and incredibly fun to watch.Vegetarian options: Have a whole vegetarian tab on the menu! Both traditional no meat options but also imitation options available.

The gyros meat was dry. Not enough fresh tomato slices. Fries were meant. I wouldn't go back. Tzatziki was ok.
