Ordered chicken and beef platter and chicken wrap sandwich, as they don’t have lamb. How unfortunate is that they don’t serve the lamb anymore. They gonna charge for Jalapeño too “OMG” such a poor management. Very bad experience we had visiting this restaurant at Touhy. They just served the boiled chicken and give it to you, they no more grill the chicken as they used to do at New York food carts. Will never ever visit this Halal Guys restaurant anymore !!! Just waste of time and money!

The food here was really good, but I was disappointed that they didn’t have spoons. Eating rice without a spoon was frustrating, and sadly, some food got wasted because of it. It’s not okay to waste food, especially since it’s considered haram in Islam. I hope they fix this and make sure proper utensils are available in the future. The food deserves to be fully enjoyed

Went to this place for the first time today and was very excited, since I had their gyro about a year ago, my brother had bought and brought it for me, which was a very delicious gyro. Today, I went in for my lunch break and saw the "lunch special" on their display tv on menu board, but when I ordered a small plate, which is a part of the "lunch special", the lady didn't tell me if I get half chicken, half beef it won't be a "lunch special" anymore. And when I asked for a couple gardinera peppers, she said it is considered a "side" and I have to pay for it, although the ad for lunch special is " a small plate, one side and a drink". So I paid $14 for a small plate and she couldn't even give me couple peppers, althought the lunch special is 12.49 or 12.99. The food was delicious, though.

Never again. Arrived shortly after opening, one of the doors was locked & the two people inside didn't even turn their heads when I knocked. I found out quickly that one of them needs hearing aids. Beef gyro is salty with almost no flavor. They always had an attitude, especially the downtown Chicago location yet that's because they backed it up with quality. Now it's overpriced and as other reviews stated, smaller portions.

I think the service got worse from what it was before, got 22$ of food and had to trash half of it because it wasn’t edible at all nothing fresh and the guy serving wasn’t mentally at work ?? don’t suggest. Even the menu wasn’t there on the screen

I used to pay $8.99 for a regular sized plate. I understand the economy is not it's best right now but you guys are clearly taking advantage and price gouging. The people paying for this and allowing them to continue charging these prices are whats wrong with this country. This is pure corporate greed.

They've forgotten that their loyal customers like me didn't come back for the fancy new location; we came back for the delicious, filling food. Now, they're serving up tiny portions of chicken that are barely enough to cover a scoop of ice cream. It's like they're trying to make us feel guilty for enjoying their food too much. For $12.49, I could get a more satisfying meal at Subway. Seriously, Halal Guys, get your act together before you lose your loyal customers for good.

Came here to try out their app - free drink and side with the purchase of an entree. There was some confusion bc for the side I wanted falafel, and they asked how many. I asked, “how many come with it?” So he asked a coworker and they said, “just give her 2” and then they didn’t ring up the drink, didn’t really establish how to use the app and although I enjoyed my meal (I have been to the downtown location often) I will not try to use the app again.

I ordered two platters and had my mom pick them up on the way to my house. We live an hour away and when she got home the order was completely wrong. I called the store to see if they would just refund the order since it would be impossible to drive an hour all the way back. The manager, Eileen, said they could only refund if we brought the food back… she didn’t offer any other solution and was extremely dismissive and rude. To top it all off, the chicken in the platter tasted like old leftover meat. Absolutely not worth it. Definitely won’t be coming back to this location.
