Ordered a regular platter for take out and made the chicken and gyro meats my selections. I enjoyed the food. The gyro meat was chopped up and had a nice flavor. The hummus I added to the plate was a much better compliment to the dish than the white sauce was. Served in a round aluminum take out container. The container made the dish look small, but it was far from small. A reasonable value at $15. I had driven by here hundreds of times having wondered for years if this restaurant was a chain and related to a food truck I tried of the same name when I was New York City. After about 2 minutes of research it turns out it is. The food at that food truck (which i wrote a Google review for) and the food here are not quite the same. The food here was good. The food there was excellent.
I just had the original halal guys in NY and tried this location to compare, it’s really bad (stomach ache) not the same. Just have the original next time you are in NY.

I don’t really care about the food that was average, but Its the not so good customer service at this location, not very pleasant attitude by the person preparing the food. Also, he wanted to charge my friend extra for a slice of Jalapeños on his bowl, also that was a bit strange. Also the portions are tiny, half of that aluminum plate is lettuce, a spoon of rice, and some burned cut gyro meat!!!

60 percent of the gyros were burned horrible, the guy on the phone said “called Uber I don’t control that” guess he doesn’t know he his coworker are burning the food

Looks the management is changed, so the food and even the sauce tastes so bad. I believe these days they just want to give the food whatever they cooked. Ordered chicken and beef platter and chicken wrap sandwich, as they don’t have lamb. How unfortunate is that they don’t serve the lamb anymore. They gonna charge for Jalapeño too “OMG” such a poor management. Very bad experience we had visiting this restaurant at Touhy. They just served the boiled chicken and give it to you, they no more grill the chicken as they used to do at New York food carts. Will never ever visit this Halal Guys restaurant anymore !!! Just waste of time and money!
