Certain institutions have a rating, an impression, an aura about them that just, candidly, is punching way above their weight. This appears to be one of them. I had not been her for years and based on the strong recommendation of food server in an excellent restaurant (Culvers) relied on her glowing send-off where to get good pizza. I am still looking. They bill themselves the best pizza in the Village (of Skokie). I can only assume, and of course am facetious, that there are no other pizza places. Candidly, the next time I have a 'taste' for pizza in that area, Dominos, Costco, Barnaby's and, sadly, even Sam's Club are all better. Maybe the pizza was over warmed (I purchased a pre-cooked slice). Maybe I had to wait while the server at the front ignoring me dealt with several individuals clearly well past their ordering and picking up. Maybe when I sat at the counter to eat it, they neglected to have napkins out. Maybe a server behind where I sat was cutting up vegetables and/or fruit and eating it personally with the cutting and/or serving utensil used. Maybe someone was inexperienced---or trying to produce a profit by reducing costs---and skimped on the toppings and even the cheese. The only thing plentiful was the bread like crust---in fact if the bakery next door were open, I would have probably gone there for a far better 'bread.' Last, they are not cheap. Again, the other places I named first above are either way cheaper aside from better and/or provide at least double the portions for approximately the same price. It has been many years since I have been there. It will probably be at least that many years since I go again. Still looking for the 'best' pizza in the Village.

What can i say the pizza is totally delicious!!!! Okay let's start from the beginning. The place is iconic with great bar and lots of TVs... the night we visited it was live music and it was on point.. we had some great drinks , some sangria and some craft beer. For an appetizer.we had loaded tater tots.. then we had a meat lovers pizza.. just right.. all was awesome!!! Until we got the bill .. the old bate & switched.. are bill was a reasonable amount... but the bill we got was just a little more like $100 more .. not accusing anybody of anything .. but if we won't payed attention we would have payed!!!!!! Great place just check your bill ... good luck...

I don't get all the hype from people at work. My 3rd time trying and the food here is not good! I did like the taco bowl, but found out today they took it off the menu. I ordered a pizza instead and after living in this town several years now, I've given up all hope that I'll find a pizzeria that has pizza et al food items that's as tasty as Alberto's in my former Rogers Park neighborhood. Seems also they have mostly young potty mouths working here, which is also distateful. Pun intended.

Terrible experience ordering delivery. We order often as they have great pizza. That said, they were running late so we called for status. They first said it was out for delivery (not asking for the order) Second call they repeated saying they were busy and catching up but it was out (again not asking for the order) Third call, they finally asked for a name and said they delivered it an hour ago on the left side of the door and rang the bell per instruction. Oops, caught in a lie as we have cameras... They took no responsibility even though they clearly made this up. Frustrating as we enjoy their food and they were becoming our go-to.

If you can't be bothered to give me a menu, then I don't feel like ordering anything. Don't act surprised if Instand I get up and walk out after you toss a little square of paper with a QR code on my table, then walk away before I can ask for an actual menu. And don't compound the problem by telling me you only have one actual menu in the whole restaurant, which you're holding in your hands, and won't give to me when I get up and start looking around and asking for a menu. This isn't some old geeEr technology complaint. It's a don't make me work to do your job complaint. Don't make it difficult for me to figure out what you serve so I can order it.

The take out pizza is not bad. Probably won't be your favorite but it's ok. Don't even bother visiting to dine in. Trust me.

First off, our waiter was pleasant and attentive. Food was average, okay. There was some drunk man loudly hollering at a televised sport at 5:30 and continued for the duration of our meal. Also, while I understand that it's a sports bar the bloodied faces and torsos of UFC fights were a little unappetizing. And since almost every vertical surface had tv screens it was impossible to avoid. It's a fine little hangout, just not my cup of tea.

Super nice atmosphere, service is awesome and music is not too crazy loud. Amazing food and fun happy hour

This is my favorite spot for late night nachos! Eating in is also fun because of the lively atmosphere.

Village Inn continues to hang tough, no matter the circumstances. Not even a chance of them closing during COVID, that's resilience, like water rolling off their back like a duck in a rain storm. On this particular Friday afternoon, it was sunny, hot and the outdoor seating was completely filled. There was live music which was a little to live because I was trying to catch up with some friends. But that's ok, fyi, sit back a little farther if you want to chat amongst yourselves. Good music though - 70s, 80s and 90s. I was really Impressed by the Village Inn Special pizza, it was crispy, tasty and full of ingredients. I ate like 4 slices along with my however many beers that I had. Wow, that was really satisfying with a little Parmesan and red chili flakes. I would come here over and over again just for the pizza. What I also like is that I just walked over here, no using the car, got my exercise in too. The calamari was a meh but the pizza was out, out, out, outstanding (with emphasis). Service was very good too. They seemed to be adequately staffed for the crowd.

I've eating here since the '50s. We order in every two weeks and the pizza is very good. Village Inn recently sold to new owners. I went with my family and it took and hour and a half for the pizza. My taco bowl was only hamburger and lettuce. No salsa. Service is just alright. Will continue to get home delivery but will not go there to eat in.

Very good pizza. Decent service and wide range of pizzas to choose from. I would recommend for everyone to eat at this place.

This is PURELY for pizza by the slice. It's awful. They fully cook some pizza at about 11am and let it sit under heat lamps until gone. So most people with a noon lunch break get pizza that has been sitting for an hour. The pizza is all dough. A reasonable operation would three quarters cook the slices and when ordered, finish them up in the oven for a minute or two. Oh, and the slices aren't cheap, either. Just bad

Been here many times for pizza and burgers. Got ambitious tonight and ordered Taco Salad and minestrone soup. Big mistake. The ground beef was dry and elderly. The soup had no taste. Good tater tots swiped from my wife's burger plate. My fault. Not smart to be adventurous.

Customer service was terrible. We came to pick up a pizza and were not greeted at all by anyone upon entering. Someone was cutting the pizza we ordered and stopped to answer the phone. It was just left there in the counter for anyone to walk in by it, then another person finished ringing up a customer then came over and finished cutting it. The whole process seemed rather unsanitary and unprofessional. Then they actually charged extra for packets of crushed red pepper and parmesean. Understandable to not just give them with the pizza to not be wasteful, but to charge for it is CHEAP. Pan pizza crust was too doughy and below average.
