George and Juliet are awesome. The room was very clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast was outstanding, especially the just baked cinnamon crunch muffins!Nearby activities: Great brewery, The White Rooster , just a 2 block walk.
This is such a terrific place, it was perfect for our one-night stay. My wife and I wanted to go visit Scratch Brewery, so we were looking for a place sort of nearby. The innkeepers Julia and George are truly delightful people, very kind and attentive; and Julia is an outstanding cook. The room was so nice and the bed comfortable. Visited Sparta for the April 2024 eclipse. Found The Orchid House online three years earlier and kept in touch. Made reservations one year prior. Close to the center of town, this is an old house that was scheduled for demo, but Julia and George saved and renovated it. They live next door.A few steps lead to the front porch (use the driveway to the left and sidewalk instead of straight up the extra steps with gate).
