The restaurant was pretty busy for a Tuesday night, but we were seated right away without a reservation. Our server, Tracy H, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Uptown is definitely one of the best restaurants in the Illinois Valley. The food is always consistent, and the service is excellent no matter how busy they are. Whether you're visiting or new to the area, Uptown is a must-try. You won’t be disappointed!“

“As we all know, Rip’s chicken is clearly the BEST. Have you ever thought about ordering Rips as a catering service? Not only was the service great, but the food was amazing. My wedding guests raved about it for weeks. We still hear about how much they loved the food. They make the best homemade Pasta and the chicken, as always was so good. They offered so many different sides to choose from and everything turned out perfectly. They had a nice setup and their girls kept the guest tables clean the entire time they were there. Seriously, by the end of the night I don’t think I saw one plate or empty cup on a single table! The owner works seamlessly with the venue and Rips staff to make sure your dinner services are top notch. I would 10/10 recommend Rip’s Tavern in general, but especially for an event. “Waitress was friendly and helpful. Service was a bit disjointed. The other couple ordered sandwiches and had to wait 5 plus minutes to get their food after we got ours. The pizza was good but the chucks parm sandwich got big ratings from our dining companions as they split sandwiches. The half and half was also good.“
