10/10 IM COMING BACK! The food was wonderful and truly SOUTHERN FOOD! PURE SOUL FOOD! I came here earlier, and they were out of my favorite things, but it’s okay! I’ll be back and earlier their prices are good for what you get. Fried chicken was so good this what I’m talking about!! Everyone here was so nice and sweet and inviting, reminds me truly of back home in Georgia! I just wanna say YALL DID YA THING! Love this place!!! Now I’m gonna get the peach cobbler cause they were out but I’ll be back earlier ???

The food was excellent. The catfish fillets and the fried chicken will cause a vegan to stray. It will take a while to eat because the food is made to order, so be prepared for the wait. I highly recommend trying it one time; you won't regret the choice.

Had the pork chops and chicken, mashed potatoes n gravy, greens, Mac n cheese. Yams n Cornbread n rolls. I ordered via DD- it was like my grandma sent over a dinner plate- very delicious! Delivered hot! Food fresh and tasty! Very impressed! Will continue to order from this establishment! Cornbread was the only item that I didn’t feel was very good- I have had much better cornbread. This restaurnat is a gem! Friendly staff, atmosphere and clean as can be. All home made food and it shows the minute you take a bite. We have tried every thing on the menu and have never been disappointed. Reasonable prices. I believe this is the best weekday breakfast and lunch restaurant in Springfield. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

The food was authentic, soul food made with love. The food, staff, and the atmosphere were awesome, and hospitality was beyond welcoming.
We enjoyed them so much that we went back the next day for breakfast.

I took my grandkids to Boyds for breakfast, and surprisingly, they ate all what I ordered them. They're extremely picky eaters! Foods here serve the best breakfast in Springfield, Illinois.

Drive thru service was good, staff was friendly, but If you’re looking for traditional home cooked-like soul food this is not it. Food was subpar at best. Canned green beans with no seasoning whatsoever, canned yams disguised as sweet potatoes and boxed Mac and cheese, again with no seasoning. I don’t mind canned veggies but they could have at least spruced them up.Best thing in my order was the corn bread and cake. Be advised the Carmel cake portion I received was a tench of a corner and not worth the cost, however it was good. They are known for the buttermilk pie, but was sold out. Skip the meal and go for the dessert if you desire a sweet treat.

I love going here, very personable, poliet, food and service is excellent. This is my highlight for travelling to Springfield. It is a soulfood place and the walley fish, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese and greens and sweet tea my favorite. All of their food is excellent and and their sweet potatoe pie that the Mom make, i ate my piece and hers. I tried not to do it. Try them when in springfield, they close at 3pm and uaually not open on the weekends but if you get a group they will open for you. Give them a try.
