Another fine Indian restaurant to adorn Springfield, ILs landscape. Their food holds true to traditional Indian cuisine- flavorful, with the option of ordering it mild, medium, or hot- as far as spices are concerned. That, and outstanding customer service makes for a wonderful dining experience!

Food was stale. Flies were flying around the food. They charge you upfront but then the food is not up to par. Not sure how it was rated so high but definitely made a big mistake coming here.

It was our first time trying Restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. They were out of Aloo Tikki, and when we asked for tea, the receptionist said they were out of that too — which is a basic item that every restaurant usually has. She mentioned they were short-staffed.
The food was just okay, and when we asked for medium spice, it came out way too spicy, so we couldn’t eat much. I might think twice before coming back.

We were a group of 12 with kids, hungry after a long drive, and even forgot to take pictures—the food was that good! Tried goat and chicken pulavs and curries too. All delicious. Medium spice was perfect for adults, mild was great for kids. Accommodating staff and a great stop overall.

Today I am changing it to 2 star only for food.
This week I celebrated my birthday and was very eagerly waiting for the weekend to enjoy the lunch buffet at Jaalsa.
1. Vegetarian options are less compared to the previous times I ate there, previously they had roti pachadi, podi, Andhra pickle, good flavoured rice, Andhra style daal.
2. Today they had junnu as one of the desserts, but it felt more like the dessert made with milk and agar agar.
3. Aloo masala was just ok, dondakaya fry was salty, daal makhani was bland and paneer curry tasted weird and the paneer was dry.
4. I did not understand why the flavoured rice was sambar rice (which did not have any flavour by the way) when they provided sambar and white rice separately.
I generally don't eat out because food at Indian restaurants is generally not so good, but after coming to Springfield and tasting food at jaalsa, I felt so happy that there is at least one Indian restaurant where I can get good tasty food.
I don't know what changed, I am so disappointed that I am sitting down to write this review with a sad heart.
Hope they improve.
I give 5 stars to the service and atmosphere.
