Went in to see Caitlin. Got the tex mex and it was well worth it ! White cheese sauce is amazing. Best is town. Service was great. No wait on drinks. Will be back for the great food and service (:

Los Altos Cocina & Cantina is a Mexican restaurant in Springfield. The food is fresh and portions are good, with great menu options for lunch, dinner, or just drinks with friends. The tex mex is well worth it and the white cheese sauce is amazing. The street tacos, grilled chicken & shrimp, along with rice & beans are excellent, and the chicken & shrimp are grilled perfectly and very plentiful. The rice is a perfect blend, along with pinto beans. The guacamole is a huge bowl and very fresh & delicious. The Pollo Con Chirizo is very good, and the grilled pineapple on top really adds to the dish. The Carnitas Burrito is also very good. Even the rice and beans are very flavorful. The menu is fairly simple and includes vegetarian and gluten free options. The service is great, with friendly staff and no wait on drinks. There is a very nice outdoor seating area and comfortable inside, with no wait to be seated. Some find the food okay to good, with a taco that was greasy and dripping oil, and chips and tortillas that were really a bit stale. All in all, a very good meal and a great place with good people working here.
