My mom was scheduled to have a heart procedure on 02/27/2024. I drove her from her home to Springfield, she got a hotel for two days. They called her at 4:58 pm on 02/26/2024 to say her procedure had been cancelled because insurance didn't approve it. She called her insurance and insurance confirmed they have never gotten a prior authorization from Goldstein's office. My mother has congenital heart anomalies and has had two strokes and this procedure was supposed to keep her from having another. She was so upset because she's been waiting over a month for this procedure just to be let down from them. This is medical negligence.
Went recently with my wife to an EP appointment with Dr. Miller. This was one of the worst medical appointments I have ever witnessed. First, before my wife had ever seen the doctor (or any other licensed professional), the device rep for her pacemaker entered the room and took the liberty of changing her pacemaker settings all by himself, with zero input from the physician or anyone else. What the hell? She began to notice palpitations right after he did this. (I will also note that at no time during this visit was a proper medical history taken by anyone we encountered.) When Dr. Miller finally came in, he was completely unprepared for the visit and also did not seem to understand her device, her symptoms, or her underlying disease in the slightest. It is not clear to me how this gentleman functions as a physician on a day to day basis. He trailed off multiple times while talking during the visit, staying silent for at least 30 seconds, and my wife looked at each other wondering what the hell was going on. We had to prompt him to start speaking again. We had so little faith in this physician and practice that we demanded they restore her pacemaker settings to what she had before and left. We will not be back. I don’t recommend Prarie or Dr. Miller to anyone. Do better, guys.
Every thing! My son was there twice Nov 2013 and April 2019. Wonderful care from all nurses on all shifts, Doctors explained all to me and him in a way we understood all. Thank You
Husband takes off work for test, but we fail to get a call that the test can’t be done because of the contrast shortage.. wasted day off work for nothing!!!!
the most caring and amazing staff.....
No easy entrance for disabled. Must walk 1block to entrance. No drop off site.

Great Dr.’s & St. John’s has served my family well. Stents, ablations & open heart surgery.
this is the best Heart institute in the world. The staff are amazing. I would recommend it for all your heart needs
After my family’s most recent experience I would give them 0 stars if possible. If you are a family member of a patient don’t go here unless you wish to be yelled at and insulted. My father has been a patient for many years. I am encouraging him to seek another provider for his cardiac needs.
Restaurantji Recommends
Very professional, very polite, each and every single time. When ever I am there, I feel like I am their number one focus and nothing else matters at that time. I have absolute trust and faith in everyone here and would travel twice as far and farther than i already do to make my appointments here.
I highly recommend Prairie Heart Institute to anyone who thinks they might be having the slightest chance of experiencing a heart problem ! Prairie Heart has the most professional and educated personnel of any place that I have ever been !! I drive 2 hours one way to get there and would drive twice as far, I love all those people that much !!! The best place in the world to be !!!!!
they are a great team of professionals.
