First & foremost, the staff here is lights out AMAZING. My wife & I were in town from Buffalo, NY for the Pro Women’s Baseball games this weekend & ended coming here before both of the games (we’re currently here now sitting at the bar!). It’s Saturday at about 5:15pm. It’s busy. The place is packed. Food is at about an hour wait. Wow! Heard rave reviews online and from locals while visiting from Oregon for the WPBL. It was better than everything we heard! Had Mac and cheese, flatbread pizza, and a chicken sandwich and every bite was delicious! Beer and drinks specials were also outstanding!

Anvil & Forge Brewing and Distilling Company offers an impressive selection of tasty beers and delectable food, including a delicious pizza, broccoli cheddar soup, and insanely big cheese sticks. The atmosphere is inviting, with a very accommodating and efficient staff providing excellent service. Kristen was super welcoming, offering samples like the Keller Clown (Helles) and the ‘Violet, Your Turning Violet.’ The food is excellent, from naked wings and fries to the BBQ Pulled Pork and the incredible Slim Thickens sandwich, which is packed with high-quality ingredients. The Mac n cheese with fried chicken is top notch, and the onion rings are some of the best, especially when paired with the house-made ranch. While the french fries can sometimes be room temperature, the salads are fresh and large, and the drink choices are great, featuring real German style beer that many consider the best in Springfield. Whether you're in the area or looking for a new spot to try, this restaurant is highly recommended. It's a must-visit after going to the Lincoln Presidential Library, making it the best place in Springfield for fine drinking and even finer dining.
