Originally planned to stop in for a drink but ended up staying awhile longer because of how great the service and atmosphere was! My group was able to sit outside in one of the enclosed tables and there was a speaker to connect our phone to play music to.Our server Paul was the best! He had such a great personality and was thorough in explaining drink/food options. He went above expectations and easily became a local tour guide in presenting the difference between Portillo's chocolate shakes.

We sat in one of the globe/igloo/pod-things yesterday after a bridal shower. Paul was our server and did a fantastic job keeping up with our grief-giving, humor, and loud girly-ness. Thanks a ton, Paul! You were great! And thanks for the cake shake!

Service from Paul was excellent. Food came out faster than expected and was tasty and beverages were also good. The cauliflower breading was a bit too thick-hence my 4⭐️on food because my stomach was a bit queasy for the rest of the night-too much grease and bread when it could be so tasty with less

Been here a few times. Most recently I went on a Saturday around 2pm, not busy. Took 10 minutes for our beers to come and then the food came out 30 seconds later. I do enjoy Alter beer, but the patty melt was a disappointment. Check came, and there were 2 extra beers on the tab that we didn’t have. Nice atmosphere, good beer, service and food is lacking.

Had a reservation. Weren't allowed to sit in the main area, even though tables were empty. In fact, people without reservations were seated in the main area. We were relegated to the extremely cold addition. Hard to enjoy a meal in the cold.

This rounds up to 4.5 stars. The food was very good and the draft beer we had was definitely 5 stars. Kelsey, our server, was just delightful. We tried this place out during restaurant week and it's a good thing because we will definitely be back.

Our group of eight chose an alpen globe for seating and it was warm and cozy and unique. Dessert, fried pickles, veggie entrees, Reuben, and flatbread all delicious. We'll be back!
We walked in full of hope, walked out irritated. This is our second time here. The bar was busy, but we accepted that. However, when they took our order, they forgot to ask how I wanted my burger, so I ended up with it rare. My fault I guess, for not volunteering the info. As we sat, we noticed the bartenders checking on everyone around us but us. I was empty on my drink, but not even a refill was offered, same with my husband. Not even a " Hey, you good, can I get you anything ?" So we ate our mediocre meals, drank our drinks, and left. We always tip extremely well. Needless to say, that didn't happen today.

We started here on the St. Charles brew trail. Nice place, but it definitely gets busy. It's also very loud in there, so it's hard to have a conversation with the rest of your group. Staff was very friendly, with decent food choices. The food was good but messy. Lol. We would come back again.

Went to a beer pairing dinner that was excellent ! Perfect amount of food. The chef came out to explain each course & the beer mister then explained ed his choices. Very glad we attended

My first trip to Alter Brewing was fantastic! For someone who doesn't drink often, the food was delicious, service was kind and courteous despite being a busy Saturday night, and I will definitely be returning. ?
