Delicious food, with plenty of vegetarian options. Our entire meal was fantastic. The cauliflower, pictured below, especially delicious.
My one wish is that La Mesa had a vegetarian option for their tacos.

$28 for chicken fajitas? I asked how much it would be to add steak, then when I was told the upcharge, I declined. Didn’t stop them from charging me that up charge, and my wife also caught them trying to charge us for the Rojas salsa ..,that we never received.

The food is as good. Margaritas were great. My issue was that the staff was folding napkins and silverware in the front near the reception desk. I’m sure there’s a better hidden spot for that task? Seems messy.

Food and drinks were solid but I'd say they were about the same quality as a standard Mexican restaurant. The location and atmosphere is awesome being in downtown STC but know that that's what you're paying for. We ate outside and the outside seating was very nice and shaded.

kim was out server and she was really rude and got mad bc we wanted to split the check, she was like “now i can’t even check my tables bc i have to spilt check”.she didn’t even ask if wanted to split it and didn’t ask us if we wanted dessert, also they add a 20% tip and what if we didn’t wanna tip! she didn’t give us silverware neither sauce for our tacos. also instead of asking how we wanted to split the check she split it one person each.
Buyer beware of unlawful overcharging of tax. This seems to be the theme of restaurants in this building. UPDATE The owners response is they just follow the rules and to take it up with the city and state. Obviously they don't understand math and I have reported it to both the city and state. The tax rate in St. Charles is 8.5% and there is a liquor tax of 3%. 8.5% of the total receipt of $81.00 is $6.88 and 3% of the liquor $48.00 is $1.44 the total tax should be $8.32 not $10.36. To many dishonest restaurant owners hiding credit card processing fees in there taxes or simply overcharging everybody an extra percentage or two. When I asked to speak to the manager about the bill our server told me the manger has no understanding of the taxes we were charged.

We were charged 20% surcharge for party of 4. When asked we were told it would be the same for even for party of 1. WOW IS IT REAL???? Not seen this anywhere in the Chicagoland area!!
