We utilized their upstairs area for a small 15 person baby shower and it was absolutely perfect!! The waitress and staff were so helpful in letting us set up early. Being so attentive during by filling drinks, providing large bowl of chips and salsa for self serve for each guest and the food was amazing! I highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Thank you for helping make it all special and seamless!

El Jacalito offers the best Mexican cuisine in the Sauk Valley. The tacos, including chicken, steak, and al pastor, are outstanding, with fresh cilantro and onion topping. The salsa, especially with a squeeze of lime, elevates the flavors to another level. The quality of the ingredients is exceptional, and the food is incredibly fresh and flavorful. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive waitresses, and affordable prices. El Jacalito also serves delicious burrias and tacos de tripa. The tamales are good, and the chips and dip are dynamite. The restaurant has a huge, perfectly decorated decor and can be quiet in the early afternoon, but it is likely to be busy with a festive atmosphere at dinner hour.
