Yummy Japanese Express - TAYLORVILLE

Yummy Japanese Express always has top-tier food and service! I LOVE the shrimp and noodles with yum-yum sauce and my teens love the chicken hibachi. We've also had the Taylorville Rolls which were delicious as well. This restaurant is definitely worth the money (meals are LARGE) and repeated patronage.

Best Japanese food for a small town. Always on time. Portions are decent price is better than the 2 others and the food. Pretty decent sushi menu. Out of the 8 times I have eaten here it's very consistent and tasty.

Total Rip-off – Avoid This Place!
I was shocked by the lack of value here. The sign advertised $8.50, but I was charged $42 for three plates. For $14 a plate, you’d expect a full meal, but look at the photo: barely half a chicken breast’s worth of meat, no vegetables, no onions, and bone-dry noodles. The food was completely unseasoned and tasteless. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers.

I have enjoyed this little place twice as finding sushi in a small town that is as good as they serve here is precious. I have had several selections and they all been good. Their noodle offerings are great and I will experiment with more in the future. Well worth the trip.

The waitress barely understands English and wasn't very helpful. Food was ok, but not for the price. I wouldn't recommend.

Food was ok, not a huge fan of their crab ragoons, the crispy exterior was a bit thick for my liking, but this is my opinion. Very nice people and the inside of the restaurant is decent for a bunch of Japanese folks. Lady was sweet as hell.

The atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly. The food, not so great. Quality and quantity was not there for the price. Upon leaving we were asked if everything was good. We told them about the tough steak and he offered to make it right. We declined.
There is no bathroom either.

Did the lunch special (Monday-Friday) Baked California roll and a side of fried rice $10. Holy crap! That was the best roll I've ever had! Had a nice crunch on the outside. The rice was a little different but with a little yum yum it was great too! Would 100% come here again. **Photo is AFTER I already ate 3 pieces!! They are huge!**

Super good!! Don't be fooled by the outside. Super cute on the inside and good was amazing! Chicago Roll is definitely big enough for two!

First time at this restaurant. We beat the lunch rush so I just thought no one was there. The outside's a little rough but the inside looks great and the people are friendly! The food is amazing! We got the Chicago roll, potstickers, and the lunch hibachi chicken. Everything was so good! Give this place a try and you won't be disappointed!
