“Love this place!! The chef puts together flavors as a master. I have renamed him the food magician. A place that is highly unrecognized for the quality of food and service. Our server has been wonderful every time I have been. And great fun to have the chef come by the table personally to greet guests. Will keep coming back.“

“Solid food. Great pulled pork and bbq sauce. Cornbread is dry, but good if you can appreciate it. Slaw has interesting foretaste and normal, vinegary after taste. Potato salad is solid. Fries are lighter and more pleasant than they appear. Solid grits and banana pudding. Excel soda fountain only (Ski, etc.). Worth the try!“
“I know this is not gonna be popular, but it tasted exactly like the food you find in a hospital canteen or high school lunchroom. And I gotta think someone else has had the same observation because there is a sign in the bathroom that reads something like they are cool with you believing your mother's chicken salad is better. Well, there is a lot of truth to that. And my mom's is much better... and my mom is a terrible cook. The food was just ok. I think people go here for the kitsch and the down home sayings onto the wall. The staff was awesome. However, being greeted by a newspaper clipping featuring Paula Deen... well, just not sure that endorsement has aged well. Look, the place is spotlessly clean and the employees were incredible, but the food wasn't nearly as special as they claim it to be. We tried the potato soup, broccoli soup, pimento cheese, chicken salad and desserts. I will try it again and update my review if the food knocks my socks off.“
“I've loved this place since I was little. Now that I'm older and kids of my own the service is great, make my kids feel included by talking and interacting with them. Great place to go to feel like you're eating a home-cooked meal“
