There was only one other customer waiting on food when we arrived, yet food took almost 40 minutes to come out. Food was really great!

First, when we walked in they had a TV with music playing and the TV was displaying imagery sexualizing a woman that went along with the song that was playing. That shouldn't be in a restaurant.Second, when ordering I ordered the "comfort Mac and cheese" and they instead charged me for a "kids Mac and cheese" which was an extra dollar. Also the special vegan challenge menu does not allow for any substitutions and requires you to get all 3 courses which was frustrating.Third, it took over half an hour for them to make our food.Fourth, when we got home with the takeout they forgot one entire entree: the Mac and cheese! We called them but it was a few minutes after they closed so they didn't answer. We tried to go back and knock on the door but half an hour after they closed they had already left. The only good thing was the food we did actually get was pretty good. Still, we will not be returning.

They had amazing food. I’m a vegetarian, and there were multiple options for me. The crew was also so friendly and fun to talk to.

I tried to order the restaurant week special on uber eats for my fiance and me. They were missing 3 of the sides that were said to be included in the order, and I spent $96. The samosa was oily, the oxtail was underseasoned and the goat curry had as much bones as meat in it. DO NOT ORDER, NOT WORTH THE PRICE.

Ordered Emma's platter w/"everything but oxtail" on it. Waited over an hour, was missing 3 of the promised samples, and the food was average at best. My party concluded there's a reason this is the only Zambian restaurant in the US.

Stango is quickly becoming one of our go-to places for comfort food! The staff is super friendly and the wait time is short. The greens and nshima are my favorite sides; the goat is great when it's in

I tried their beef pies at the Urbana Farmer's market and people stopped me around the market and asked what I was eating because the filling smelled so good. I recommend ordering ahead for takeout for a timely meal.

Stango Cuisine is (supposedly) the only Zambian restaurant in the country. The spot is somewhat difficult to find, but the vibe inside is elegant and comforting. I ordered Emma's platter (a sampler of their most popular entrees, which includes chicken curry, beef stew, and more) and the beignets. This ended up being around 40 bucks, which is quite expensive. Furthermore, it took around 30 minutes for the food to arrive on a not-so-busy Wednesday evening. However, I was absolutely blown away by the food. The rice and beans were unlike any that I've tasted-the rice had a beautiful fluffy texture and the beans were decadent. The greens were also delicious, as was the beef stew. I personally didn't love the chicken curry or the stewed potatoes, but everything else was delicious. The beignets were decent, but nothing to write home about. When I come back, I'll probably get the beef stew, though I'm excited to try the oxtail as well. Overall, this is easily one of the best restaurants in the Champaign area.
