Exceptional from start to finish! Got there at around 11:30 on a Sunday, and it was packed! Got seated quickly at the counter, and our server was lovely (attentive, but not hovering). I got the Popeye omelet with fruit and French toast. The omelet was huge, hot, and delicious. Asked for a side of hollandaise, and it arrived in about 2 minutes. My guy got the country fried steak, eggs, and potatoes (the gravy was fantastic!). Prices were more than reasonable and the portions were huge! We will be back, and i would absolutely recommend this place!

Highly recommend. Had the breakfast tacos. Tortillas were amazing. Breakfast potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Keep doing what you do. Thank you

A little gem in Vernon Hills! My husband and I went here for breakfast and the food was fantastic and plentiful. I had an omelette and he had the Popeye skillet. Mine came with a side of fruit or potatoes and both came with a choice of toast, biscuits and gravy, crepes or pancakes. All for under $15 each. The service was also outstanding with everyone working there is very attentive to customers. The owner was very engaged upfront, which in my view is another sign of a good place. Highly recommend for breakfast!

after being a customer for many years, I'm sad to say I will not be returning to this restaurant. We were asked by our server to leave because they were busy and we had been there "too long" we were there for a total of 90-minutes from the time we arrived, to the time we were asked to leave. this is including the time we had to wait for the table. I have never before been asked to leave a restaurant and have stayed much longer than this in the past. Nowhere in their cafe do they list a time limit. I spoke with management who told me that people should be mindful of the 90-minute stay. again, nowhere in the restaurant do they tell customers about their time limit. This was absolutely embarrassing to say the least. To customers considering this spot, be aware you might be asked to leave halfway through your stay.

Garden Berry Cafe is an interesting breakfast. I had the Gyro Omelette and the Stuffed Pancakes. The Gyro Omelette had a little too much feta cheese but tasted fine. The Stuffed Pancakes are just two pancakes with fruit and yogurt in between. The pancakes were good but calling them Stuffed Pancakes seems like clickbait. I also had the hot chocolate and it was pretty good but nothing special. All of this was $28 and I feel like I can get the same thing for equal or less money at a better quality restaurant like Wildberry or Buttermilk.

This is the best place for breakfast or lunch! Our server today was Yvonne, she was very sweet, serve with a smiling face! I had the steak skillet and a side of pancakes (the steak skillet was a little too salty but the side of pancakes was delicious, fluffy and chewy), my husband had the Philly steak wrap with a side of creamy chicken rice soup (the soup was really creamy and salt was just right) I didn’t taste the Philly steak but it look very moist and yummy! I am going back just to have their creamy chicken rice soup! So good!

This place is a little small but the food is usually pretty good and the service is always excellentVegetarian options: Again, menu is very customizable and they are open to substitutions so you should not have any problem creating vegetarian mealsDietary restrictions: They are very accommodating with substitutions and customizations so very easy to accommodate any dietary restrictionsParking: Very small parking lot at prime times. It is hard to find a spot you have to park in the grass.Kid-friendliness: It is kid, friendly, but kids might be boredWheelchair accessibility: There is ground level entry and ground level seating but it’s very tight and small so you could get in with a wheelchair, but it would be a tight squeeze

Great food at a great price. Parking lot too small for the volume this restaurant does & could do.

Ordered two meals as carry-out today: the veggie wrap, add chicken with chipotle mayo and a steak skillet with a garden berry crepe! The food was ready for pick-up in ten minutes, it tasted super flavorful and the portions are large! I highly recommend ordering from here and/or dining in!

I’ve had a lot of omelette and potato combos in my life, and this one is definitely in my top 3 I’ve ever had. Service is super quick (I came during a weekday) and everyone is so nice! I live about 1.5 hours away and just stopped here on a whim during work travel, but I fully see myself driving the 1.5 hours from home just to come eat here. It does look a little outdated, but food fully makes up for it. SOOOOO good!!!
