“Beer-battered shrimp tacos, with their special topping, plus we added a slice of avocado, was what we had for dinner tonight. My husband stopped midway through his meal and said this was the BEST TACOS …and guacamole! Thank you Taco Shop!!!“

“Stopped by on a whim and was very, very surprised. The outside is quite attractive with an outside eating area. The inside is nice and clean with plenty of seating. We ordered chips and salsa, Pollo with Mole, and the Steak Burrito Fajita. The chips are homemade (as expected) and very good. The chicken in the Pollo with Mole was super tender. The mole was rich. It came with homemade corn tortillas. The Steak Burrito is filled with fajita fillings, so steak, green and red peppers, and onions. The flour tortilla was filled and grilled giving the whole a nice smokey flavor. It was one of the very best burritos I have ever had. Look over my reviews. I have eaten a lot of burritos. They have a creamy salsa verde that is great, a very nice Roja sauce, and a hot sauce that is no joke hot. Our server was great and the whole experience was a great one. Will be back soon.“

Antojitos Hondureños is the real deal — truly authentic Honduran food made with love, patience, and heart. Every visit feels like coming home, surrounded by people who treat you like family and serve dishes that taste just like those back in Honduras.
If you go (and you absolutely should), make sure to try the mondongo, guiso de pollo, pastelitos, pork nacatamales, or enchiladas — honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The food is made fresh to order, not precooked, so be patient; it’s well worth the wait.
There’s no alcohol and BYOB isn’t allowed, but that doesn’t take away from the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you come with family, friends, or just for a comforting meal on your own, Antojitos Hondureños is a place that captures the true flavors and spirit of Honduras right here in Waukegan.

“I stopped by this morning looking for an authentic Mexican breakfast. Everything was delicious . But the probably had the best refried beans and chorizo I ever had. The portion was huge enough for me to share with 3 others in my office. Looking forward to returning.“

“2 fat pastor tacos + fat loaded steak torta for $20 bucks ish.
Left really full with half a left over torta, delicious salsas. Atmosphere is a little quiet and awkward but I also came at 10pm so I guess it was kinda peaceful in a way.“
