We met friends for the fish fry. They had not been there before. They loved it. We had Emily as our server, and she could not have been better. She was attentive, polite and spaced our courses so we could visit. Great night.
Maybe my expectations were too high? We ordered: Parmesan Crusted Salmon -good after a squeeze of lemon. Filet- had good flavor but was tough for that cut of meat Cheeseburger- honestly the best of the three. Who would have thought!? We thought the interior was very nice. It was a busy night but our waitress was really not great. We were visiting for the weekend but would consider going back if we were in that area again.
The Shanty is always a good bet. I rate the Shantyburger as the gold standard of hamburgers, because I'm always disappointed with a hamburger at any other restaurant. It's cooked to order, and if you order rare, that's what you get. I ordered sweet potato fries which were fresh and hot. Our server was friendly, knowledgable, and upbeat. Lunchtime is conversation-friendly.
