JV's is a cozy neighborhood bar that probably hasn't changed a lot since the late 80s- and thats a good thing! As many other reviewers said, its a cheers type of place with good bar food. Prices are reasonable, and it was clean. Hubs had a burger that he enjoyed and i had bbq pork nachos. They were good, but the cheese wasn't melted? That was my only complaint. Fried pickles were tasty too.

Great food, I got the pulled pork sandwich and also the chicken bacon wrap. Both very good! Called ahead and if I wouldn't have been early, it would be done at entrance. Great attitude there! Bartender Avery was very pleasant! Highly recommend them!

Downtown was busy but we had a relatively short wait for a table and were able to quickly get a cocktail while we waited. We had the cheddar cheese balls as a starter and they came out quickly and were delicious. I had the chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun with sweet potato fries and my husband had the Mackie burger and fries. Both were excellent. It was our server's first night and she did very well - she checked on us often and made sure we had drinks and anything else we needed.
This is what a bar & restaurant should be. Some of the best food in the area and all the drinks to go with it. The building it is in has a tremendous history dating back to before the Prohibition as well.
