“My friend and i had lunch at Bean Tree Cafe today. The building is on Main Street so parking is limited around lunch time. The inside has two rooms with maybe a dozen tables. The waitress was very accommodating. My friend had a burger and fries. She was very happy. I had the reuben sandwich which was ok. I am from Boston so i am probably fussy. I also had the sweet potato fries which were good. The bathroom was tiny and it was clean with hot water at the sink. We would go again when in Waterloo.”
“This is our first time try Hiko. We never have sushi before and here we tried. The hornet roll is very good and we had the salmon bento box. The staff was excellent. We glad to have you guys in Waterloo.”
“It was our first time, a bit of a drive from our house, but worth it.This is a cozy brick oven style pizza place with a super creative menu.We tried out the garlic cheese sticks, The Kurt Brussel Pizza: mustard bechamel • shaved brussels sprouts • white cheddar • bacon syrup • red pepper flakes, and the Korean Club Sandwich. The dough was nice, crispy on the outside and chewy. The sauce had layers of flavor, super imaginative combinations of toppings, and perfectly cheesy! The service was definitely a huge highlight of our experience. She made great suggestions, made sure our drinks stayed full, and even poked fun of me ??. We really felt like family and it made our first experience that much better!”
“Great service and friendly staff! Always have a new rotation of beers on tap and their whiskey selection is in point. Recommend to finish on a weekend in Waterloo.”
“Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had on the planet. Get the Mexican Sizzling Alambre! I dare you to find better Mexican food.Eliel also Server of the Year.Waterloo has a world class spot what you need to try! Also the salsa is muy muy muy bueno!”
“Food was good. Great atmosphere. It was busy but service was good. Don't know if it was standard practice but they didn't bring plates with the pizza. Had to eat out of paper boats. Good place to watch game or bands.”
“Happy Hour rules! Very consistently good. Known for their wings, but definitely check out some fries. Best fries in stl area. Great food quality, good value, friendly employees, clean dining area. This place checks all the boxes.”
“Great place to go for lunch or dinner and even better place to grab a cold one with friends and family. Live music from time to time, check their Facebook page. Worth the drive.”
“Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve had when I lived in St Louis. It’s family-owned as well. I miss this place since I live in Utah but will be making a near visit soon!”
“Friends brought us here to eat. I don't know if I could find it again. But it would be worth it to try because we had a great dinner! Most of us got the special, which was pork chops, & that was very good. I want to mention the salad bar, though. I haven't seen a good salad bar in years. This was a great salad bar! It's priced either for a single trip or for a full meal. The single trip was prefect for me. And, if I remember correctly, they have all-you-can-eat fried chicken in Sundays. We might need to try to find that soon!”
“great bar, nice staff, good music. the restaurant section is amazing and the video games are hott! definitely worth the visit to our 300 yo old town to check this place out!”
“The food was delicious. The pulled pork sandwich was supposed to be 8oz, but it had to be more. Potato salad and beans were both excellent. I do wish they had brisket. Brisket would make me want to definitely return.”
“We absolutely love this place, food and service is always outstanding,my favorite is gizzards and the potatoe salad. I rate it a 5star .Thanks Jim Cox n Laura Mattingly.”
“The business hours take a little getting used to, but the food here is excellent. Everything is homemade, they are quick and friendly, and it's a good place to mingle with the locals. They have a selection of homemade pies most days tooParking: The parking lot is tiny, but I don't think there's a lot they can do about it”
“Went for a late lunch . I like to go when it’s not busy to really get a feel for service and food. Walked in and my order was taken right away. And then! The guy cut the brisket right in front of me and got my side. Had my meal and paid instantly, pretty nice. Paid about $21 for a brisket sandwich and Mac and cheese and coleslaw. Not bad but not good pricing. Sat down and ate , brisket was good, warm temp , good taste ( could’ve used a little salt ) sauces were good, mac and cheese was good. Little bland. But overall good experience, good staff friendly , just a little expensive for what I got, would recommend and would go back.”
