“I ordered the duck's burger with coleslaw. the coleslaw was The Best coleslaw that I have had at any restaurant ever. the burger was delicious and messy, so it was perfect. the bartender who also my server, Danielle, was attentive, personable, and friendly. an excellent experience. they are also a big supporter of Peoria City soccer, so we will definitely be back.”
“Went to Mike's Tavern in West Peoria IL for lunch today. This is a small hole in the wall bar and grill. You first think of a two and a half garage that someone turned into a bar. You would be close . The owner is happy to tell you the history of the place. I had their Tenderloin. Crispy crust, toasted and buttered bun. On the thin side of tenderloins but still thicker then most. Just comes with chopped onions and at least a dozen pickles. No lettuce or tomatoes. Husband had the Double Cheeseburger. Once again only chopped onions and pickles. We shared an order of Truffel Oil Fries. Hot and crispy. They were hard to stop eating! Normally these are Parmesan Truffle Oil Fries but they were out of Parmesan. Definitely worth a stop in for lunch. Kitchen isn't open on Monday or Tuesday. Small menu but food is GOOD EATS!”
“We came along way and buy it be a New Year’s Eve. We didn’t look forward to coming to Peoria not having anything to do when we arrived. There were only like four cars in the lot so we figured we were pretty early for the New Year’s bash security at the front door said there was a $25 cover fee. There was no food and he said that there were only three people in the bartender inside, which disappointed me to the bottom of my heart when I come back to Peoria, maybe it will be a more greater experience being that they won’t be charging people at the door who in the world would pay $25 or New Year’s Eve and you didn’t even have food we didn’t come from Chicago to visit somewhere as such so waste of money not knowing what the atmosphere would be like once the crowd picked up, and since we werethe first ones in the crowd to be there before midnight. You could have at least let us in for free because just a couple hours after New Year’s you were packed that was the most ghetto thing I had ever heard of.”
“Friendly crew and customers. Great cook, cooking , great food. Prices, are, spot on.”

“Walked in and immediately smelled smoke, not the good kind. It smelled like an ashtray. We ordered fried green tomatoes and they were pretty decent. Then came the 3 meat platter, We had the chicken, pork and brisket. All the meats were pretty dry and had 0 smoke flavor. It reminded me of that store stuff you microwave. Pork was mid. The brisket was off tasting, more like pot roast. The chicken was the worst, no flavor at all and very dry. The baked beans and mashed potatoes were good. Don't know if it was a bad night or what but probly won't be back.”

“I was having a conversation with a worker and noticed her using lots of organic ingredients and real Himalayan salt... this sparked my curiosity and I started paying attention to the food she was making ... I decided to buy lunch here after initially just grabbing my first ever coffee at this coffee shop .... to my surprise that dragon berry fruit bowl was absolutely amazing. I have never been to a place that uses clean ingredients like this. This was a great experience. 5 stars!”

“Everything about this place was phenomenal. I am not from this area and came here because of the good reviews. They were not kidding!
Fresh squeezed orange juice: check. Fluffy (not gluey) biscuits and gravy: check. I'm going to run out of room here, so just believe me when I say everything was amazing. And if you are a coffee drinker, don't skip it! Thank you to Leah who was attentive and sweet! *And no, this is not a paid ad, I just really liked it here! *”

“First time visit,Over all the food was average. For the price below average. I had the Bluegill with Au gratin potatoes and green beans with Iced-tea. MY review: the Bluegill was deep-fat fried too long which made it dry and crunchy. Their tartar sauce made it edible. Now as for the Au gratin potatoes, very cheap and cheesy. Whomever, makes this need a lesson in really good Au Gratin Potatoes. Their version is frozen shredded breakfast hashbrown potatoes smothered in a velveeta cheese sauce and placed under a broiler. Mine was a little burnt. I could not eat it, I tried 2 bites but that was it. My guest also tried it and was not impressed. The green were the best part of the meal. My guest had the Walleye and it was very good, same with his rice pilaf. His meal also came with a slice of toasted marble-rye bread. His meal was better. Our ice tea's were watered down by too much ice. No one offered refill/toppers. Our split dessert was their Texas sheet cake. It was an overpriced brownie with bad frosting/glaze. Our server was sweet, so she still got her tip. We traveled approximately 30 miles to check this place out. I don't feel it is worth the drive to eat there again.”

“Food and service are always excellent, hands down best fine dining in Peoria. Inspired menus, extensive bar, welcoming atmosphere and dim lighting make it the perfect date night landing. Get the Brussels sprouts.”

“Double D’s Ice Cream – A Sweet Spot You Can’t Miss!
Double D’s Ice Cream is everything you want in a local ice cream shop — fun, friendly, and full of flavor! From the moment you walk up, you’re hit with that nostalgic ice cream shop vibe, and the smell of fresh waffle cones seals the deal.
The flavor selection is amazing. They’ve got everything from the classic favorites to creative combos you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re into rich chocolate, fruity sorbets, or loaded sundaes, they’ve got something for every craving. And the portions? Let’s just say they don’t hold back — totally worth every penny.
The staff is always upbeat and patient, even when there’s a line out the door. They’re happy to let you sample a few flavors before you decide (which you’ll definitely need to, because it’s hard to choose just one!).
Perfect for families, date nights, or just treating yourself, Double D’s is the kind of place that keeps you coming back. If you’re in the area and love ice cream — don’t skip it!”
