Bohemian Crystal (closed)

Went 9/27/22 for one last dinner since they are planning to close at the end of the week. Arrived at 11:00 AM (opening time) and the dining room was filled already since everyone else had the same idea! Got #03 for the 2nd seating and waited approx. 35 min. so not too bad. They had a special menu for these busy days - plenty of main course options to choose from. Had choices soup or salad, main course, dumplings or potatoes, sauerkrauts or green beans, kind of kolatcky. Came with rye breads. Coffee extra. Dinners were generous and we had plenty to take home. Very good and delicious as always. Will miss the place that has been there over 40 years.

Good food and pleasant server.Always enjoy going here with my sister for a special treat. We usually both get breaded pork tenderloin.This is the first time today we had an hour wait , but it's because lots of people found out that they soon will be closing for good Been a favorite place to go for many, many years. They will be missed....

So very sad they are closing doors. More than 4 generations of my family celebrated meaningful celebrations there. Nothing in burbs compare with this Czech quisine. Good food always, excellent! Always enough to take home. Can't forget to mention unequaled service by wait staff always, always! Miss you already Bohemian Crystal!

Thank you, owners and staff, for so many years of wonderful and delicious service. We will all miss your smiles, stories and authenticity. There will never be another restaurant like The Crystal. I'm sorry to see you close but time does march on, I guess. Thank you, again. We all love you!

Closing Sun, Oct 2. after 41 years. It was delicious. ?We went Tues, got front row parking at 10:20am. They let us in about 10:45. It was wonderful. Now where can we go for bread dumplings, breaded pork tenderloin, roast duck?? ? We drove in from Sandwich & Somonauk, IL.

2 weeks before closing they printed a special menu with $3-5 price increases acrossThe board. This should not be allowed . They really know to thank all the customers that have come there for a last and final meal . This is price gouging to the ultimate .

Should be going this Sunday, can't wait it's been a long time since we have been there . Gotta get there before they sell ☹️

We have dined here numerous times for special occasions, and always enjoyed great food and ambiance. It's a 20 to 30 minute drive so we have called first, especially since the start of the pandemic. We wanted to come for our anniversary, especially as they have announced that they are closing. But we get only busy signals when we call. They may not be taking reservations but the least they could do is to indicate when they are least busy. They aren't showing much respect for the customers who supported them through the years.

The restaurant is up for sale! 4 generations of my family have been coming here. It's always so good. Our favorites are breaded pork tenderloin, fruit dumplings (gotta get the peach when it's in season), roast loin of pork, roast pork and roast duck. It wouldn't make the meal complete without getting the dumplings, and sauerkraut. The gravy is just FANTASTIC!! Owners always greet the customers, servers and staff are friendly. But get there soon before it's all over. You will never experience the great food again like Bohemian Crystal Restaurant. Our whole family will miss the good times we had here.

Amazing staff and the food is phenomenal. The prices are great as well. I would highly recommend this great place to have dinner!

Was in a banquet room after a funeral. Great service and food! Too bad I forgot to get more pictures of the food bowls/plates of pork coming out!

We walked in and the smell in the air was perfect.My wife had the goulash and I had to Czech platter, both were wonderful. The red cabbage was perfect.Good portion size for the price.We truly enjoyed our meal, and look forward to going here again.

This was a very enjoyable experience, the food was cooked cooked very wonderfully wonderfully and it is a truly authentic Bohemian restaurant. I would highly recommend the pickle beef, and the breaded pork tenderloin truly a wonderful experience. Their prices were in in par with the the food that they served and the quantities were wonderful and the quality and staffing was experienced, friendly and professional. This is definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in this area of Chicagoland.

My mother-in-law used to make duck, dumplings and sauerkraut for thanksgiving. It was fantastic and we always look forward to it. She has passed many years ago now and I never had any duck close to what she made. We found Bohemian Crystal Palace on our search for duck, dumplings and sauerkraut. We decided to go and were blown away by the great food and quality. Almost as good as my mother in laws. We also had schnitzel and brats. Everything was great. Good service and good value. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend.
