This Chinese restaurant has been a favorite of my husband’s since his PhD days—he used to drive two hours just to eat here, mostly for their beef noodles. Even after we moved, no matter where we stay in Chicago, we’ll go out of our way just to have a bowl. Their noodles are truly worth savoring again and again.
This time we ordered beef noodles and fried noodles, and both were delicious. We usually like to order a bowl of noodles and add extra beef separately—it’s simply amazing!
The only downside is that the dining environment is quite average.

Been coming here for the past 2 years and this spot always hit , I got the orange chicken yesterday and man was it not only fresh , you had nice chunks of chicken thighs in a crunchy crust with nice orange sauce that had freshly cut garlic in it.
I also tried the pork rice ball which was also good.
I wi honestly say this is the best lunch special in the area , it reminds me of the old school Chinese spots that give everything at a reasonable price and considering the lunch special is less than $10, this place has kept me as a regular.
The lunch special includes meal , egg roll and a drink , I personally like the soybean milk.

The owners publicly talked about putting too much MSG in the beef noodle soup…
First, got the wrong order and gaslighted about how it's the right one (ordered Taiwanese sliced pork belly, got the braised pork belly). But it also just wasn't good. Paid $14 for 4 small pieces of tough pork over a lot of rice. Even the rice was over cooked and mushy. I threw out half the rice because there wasn't even anything to eat it with.
Authentic Chinese breakfast items, really enjoyed it. Savory douhua, mala beef tendon, steamed buns. Also have youtiao.

I was very disappointed with the food today. I ordered a soy milk, but it smelled bad, and I could only take one sip before throwing it away. The noodles I ordered were also very disappointing—they seemed like leftover vegetables with a few noodles placed on top. The pork was not fresh either.

I got stinky tofu and beancurd soup with peanut, yotiao, etc. they are really good price, but the food is not that good. The tofu is not stinky, not fermented, just regular deep fried tofu with sweet and spicy sauce on raw cabbage. The tofu flower is like jello, not really good either. It’s cheap enough so just grabbing a bite is fine. Oh yotiao is good guess you’re, at least!
But the pig ears is really good, I would just get the small premade dishes and soymilk and yotiao next time!
You get to enjoy authentic Taiwanese snacks especially buns and noodles. Highly recommend this place.
