Oriental Food House Reviews
Great reminisce of Taiwanese food! Not enough time to try all of them.
Nice Taiwanese breakfast and food
We like coming here for some Taiwanese classics. I recommend the pork stick rice tower, pork pie, oyster omelette, and the pork potage with noodles. They also make tasty drinks. I recommend the fruit smoothies. The shop is run by a few older people, so please be patient with them as they prepare your order.
Saying this because I saw this during my last visit here. After ordering, please do not crowd the counter waiting for your food/drink. Please step back and allow other...read full review

The Oriental Food House is a Taiwanese food court stall that offers delicious and affordable home-cooked Chinese cuisine. The portions are generous, and the flavors are authentic, making it a popular destination for those craving a taste of genuine Taiwanese fare. The menu features a variety of dishes, including the popular chicken lollipop, hot and sour soup, and highly recommended scallion pancakes. The stinky tofu is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a strong aroma but a very good flavor. The beef noodle soup is a standout, with ample portions of tender meat and just enough tendon. The pig blood soup (豬血湯) is noted for its authenticity, making it a must-try. The meatballs and glutinous rice sausages are also good and worth trying. While the presentation of the dishes may look humble, they taste super authentic and delicious. The stir-fried noodles with chicken are tasty but a bit oily and salty, though the chicken portion is solid. The restaurant is clean, and staff are attentive. Despite being outside downtown Chicago, it is about a 30-40 minute drive, and the owner is very friendly. Overall, the Oriental Food House is a hidden gem that offers a delightful dining experience for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Taiwanese cuisine, with many considering it some of the best Asian food in Chicago.
