Came here after a work out because I was starving. Sushi is always my to. The fish was fresh and the miso was comforting on a cold day. The crab rangoon was sweet, but savory. I am real happy with my visit. :)

Excellent sushi and great service. The rice portion is a bit large but the sushi slices are as well. Overall definitely recommended

The menu is vary vast and there are numerous sushi options and they offer an all you can eat sushi deal. I had the shrimp tempura meal and overall was good but the friend onions were undercooked. Kudos to the hostess who was the only one taking orders, bringing the food and checking on the customers-she was awesome!! The atmosphere was comfy and there was ample space.

Food wasn’t made the best but the server was working super hard. I would pick Hokkai in Glen Ellyn.

Boy, was this place terrible. We were in the area for an errand and happened to find this place via google maps. I saw some good reviews, so we gave it a try. That turned out to be a mistake. They have an all you can eat option, which we opted for. The server warned us that if we leave anything on our plate, we would be charged. Wow, what a warm way to welcome us. When she brought us our first round of nigiri, some of the pieces were ok but way too much rice. Obviously, the more rice, the less fish you eat. ;) Anyway, the problem was, some of the nigiri had a funny taste, like the spicy tuna. I had to spit it out. It was not fresh. There were other items that weren’t fresh as well. My wife had the same reaction. Anyway, we paid our bill, let the server know that some of the fish wasn’t fresh, and left. My wife felt nauseous for the rest of the day. She was upset and called the restaurant, requesting money back. Over the course of the next few days, they kept stalling and finally haggling to only pay back 50% or come back for a free meal (yeh right). At this point, I don’t care about the money. Oh and another comment, which really shows who these people are, “You should be happy we didn’t charge you for leaving all that rice.” Anyway, just posting to warn people. You have other options.

My daughter and i normally go to Orland Park location but we were in the area so we decided to try, Big mistake! I should've a paid attention when i saw only one table that has a customer when we walked in at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday! We've been to different sushi place and state and Im not sure why this place has a good review but maybe it was an off day for the chef. Although maybe the good review was for the appetizers. The seaweed salad was good, avocado salad serving was small but decent taste, fried gyyoza, shumai was good but tempura was okay. The batter that was used in tempura tasted old. We ordered same nigiri and rolls that we had been ordering in any sushi restaurant but in this restaurant it was a downhill and finishing them felt like a task rather than satisfying our craving. We ordered eel, mackerel, shrimps nigiri and dragon roll, mango tango roll and all of them tasted old rice or left over rice and un- appetizing. For, all the people who gave a good review, I'll recommend to try Orland park area of sushi nova.
For me overall, I would recommend to keep driving and find another place.
Overall, i

I like sushi. I'm not a big fan of a lot of the raw fish type of sushi. But my friends are and they love the place. I also do love the place for the stuff that I do get. I enjoy. I like their hot appetizers. And I do eat sushi rolls which are good. I highly recommend the place. The staff is great. The sushi is made with art. And the atmosphere is cool.
