Can’t go wrong with Panera. They did run out of bread bowls, but I imagine that happens sometimes. I miss the warm grain bowls they took off the menu!

I got a sandwich and it was covered all over in copious amounts of ground black pepper. Both slices of sourdough bread? Coated in pepper. Fixings? Coated in pepper. It was enough black pepper to cause discomfort with every bite. The sandwich was literally bleeding black pepper. I did not order pepper. The sandwich does not come with pepper.
It was almost hilarious if not for the fact I spent real money on the completely inedible, peppery sandwich. To be clear: I have never had this problem with any eatery, restaurant, or cafe before. I guess someone either got fed up with their job or got bored and started experimenting in the kitchen or maybe they were just plain confused. I didn’t ask for salt or pepper. So why all the pepper? It was a decent sandwich, apart from the copious amounts of black pepper, which I had to scrape off. It was impossible to get it off the soft sourdough, so I had to deconstruct the sandwich and just use my stale baguette as bread. I was hungry, so I ate it, but the taste of pepper was still burning my throat.
Anyway. A note to whoever made the pepper sandwich; I give you five stars, because it had the potential to be a great sandwich. I know you work hard. But please do not grind black pepper until the sandwich is utterly covered in pepper, especially when the customer didn’t ask for pepper. Pepper is very strong. And too much of it makes any sandwich inedible. I am not mad at you, as I’d never been to this particular Panera before, I am just extremely confused. Thank you for making my sandwich, I might return again, but I mean… the amount of pepper that was on the sandwich could have caused someone a lot of discomfort.
I left this honest review and report of the incident because regardless if this was just plain confusion, a genuine attempt to make a good sandwich, or an attempt at hurting someone or the Panera itself by making a bad sandwich covered in extreme amounts of pepper (I hope not), maybe this Panera should take this as a learning opportunity and also as an opportunity to treat their employees better. In this economy, employees deserve to be treated better anyway. So regardless what happened that led up to this inedible pepper covered sandwich being served, you never know which customer will get a pepper covered sandwich and immediately assume the worst, or the best in an employee or your business. If management should care to make improvements, I’d just start with reminding everyone that pepper is strong, that copious amounts of pepper make sandwiches straight up inedible, and less is more. That’s not forgetting that I didn’t ask for pepper in the first place and I paid for a sandwich that was supposed to be edible. Treat your employees better! Maybe this was a simple mistake. But just let it be known that being kind and constructive with criticism has ripple effects and it has the potential to make everyone happy. I was still content with the insanely peppery sandwich in the end (my stomach still hurts), but I tend to be forgiving and maybe someone else wouldn’t have been.

There was no decaf coffee when I arrived at 7 pm, but they made an entire fresh pot of decaf for me at that time of the evening. That’s special.
Was cheated in my order. Ordered pick 2 and wasn't given my 2nd item

I go all the time but then manager kicks me and my friends out for buying drinks and then sitting outside. We tried to go in and see one of my friends who tipped 30% but then all of us got kicked out. So annoying

Definitely a hit or miss experience here over the years. Sometimes service is super responsive and seems like they care about efficiency and being timely and other times it’s the slowest process I’ve ever witnessed. Preteens also have made it their hang without purchasing anything and it creates a chaotic atmosphere. But today sealed the deal that I won’t be returning when I witnessed the person serving me my bagel, use the same gloves she had worn to handle money and to switch over the signs above the register before putting my bagel in the toaster, and later in the bag. I witnessed other employees using their food gloves in similar ways which really grossed me out. I hope management helps adjust some of these practices because it used to be a great spot.

Liked the food, not so much the service. As you can see in the picture, we got carryout and there were supposed to be 2 forks. They included one. For a picnic lunch, not too helpful.

This is not a nice Panera, nobody works here, very busy, bathrooms apparently not functional.
The place was dirty. The front door was dirty, the floor was dirty. My salad was not very good and the chicken was inedible. They used to use real chicken but this was some kind of processed stuff. I used to go there all the time but it is just bad now.

I recently stopped by my local Panera and was really taken aback by how rude one of the on-site managers was. I was simply leaning my feet against one of the outdoor tables when he suddenly shouted, “Excuse me, can you get your foot off the table? We need to paint them!” It wasn’t even clear what he was asking, and he didn’t use a single polite word—he just barked at me. I understand if there’s a legitimate reason to move, but his tone was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. He sounded more like an owner than a manager, and gave zero consideration for common courtesy.
Between the abrupt screaming and the lack of even a “please,” this was easily the most uncomfortable experience I’ve had at a Panera. I hope management addresses how staff interact with customers—no one deserves to be talked to like that.
He was more polite in addressing the barking do at the table across me than he was in addressing a fellow human being. And on top of that the coffee was watery.
