Grateful Bites Pizza Shoppe

Soggy bottom. I picked up a triangular cut wedge, it drooped and pointed to the floor. Nice char marks on the top outside edge as you would want from a real wood fired pizza, but not even a hint of a crisp crust under the middle, and it was even a “thin” crust pizza. They may use the fire flames to quick cook the top, but they’re not moving the logs around to get the oven stones hot enough to crisp the crust. Too bad, what a glorious oven, probably very expensive. Too bad they don’t know how to use it. I won’t be back.

Food was good thw problem was thw wait. We were second couples in the place abs got the pizzas maybe 25-30 min later. Meanwhile they produced more than 50 pizzas. They are very efficient on producing but I think the focus is the online pick up orders. As we were sitting waiting there were at least 20 boxes waiting for different pickups. So it’s just reorganization their focus and feeding people who are sitting and waiting. Other than that great experience.

The menu is small but has some unique options, I ordered the elote pizza and it was good but I felt it had too much mayonnaise which made it quite rich and I wouldn’t eat much of it. The staff was very friendly and they informed me of outdoor seating in the back which was nice. I will say one thing that bothered me when you look at the online menu vs ordering online there’s an upcharge even though it says there isn’t one. This is deceitful and would definitely discourage me from returning.

This pizza and the pizza oven are the main attraction. They have a creative menu (though it’s been the same for years). The ingredients are very good quality and the preparation is typically good. They also have some good salads and deserts to enjoy while you’re there. The inside seating is relatively basic and somewhat limited.

Go on Tuesdays for their “two for Tuesday” special.

Went here because it is the only brick oven pizza I could find in the northern suburbs. Crust edges are fine, but the rest of the crust is soggy. Toppings are relatively tasteless. This place is mainly take out but there is very basic sit down. Not recommended.

It took me a while to try this place, but when I finally did, I was pleasantly surprised. It hit the spot. Now I don't have to drive 40+ minutes to enjoy a good Margherita pizza.

Amazing food, ordered a dozen or more times but about 25% of the time it’s 30-60+ min lates or totally messed up orders. They really gotta work on their logistics and not overpromise and under deliver. Hope they get it together. 🙏 today waited over an hour behind for one pizza ordered hours ahead.

We stopped today as a family for pizza before hitting up all the Home Alone sites. The pizza was incredibly delicious! The staff were friendly and the building itself was small and cozy. Fast service too! The neighborhood is delightful as well! Would absolutely stop again when in the area.

Great pizza, the pepperoni and hot honey for the win. Also the Caesar is surprisingly delicious and fresh.
