The Toast is/was a small dinner located in the downtown area of Anderson. I say was because it is currently closed for renovations. A couple of guys bough the diner about a year ago and renovations started not long after. It is taking some time but the wait will be worth it. They are returning The Toast in to a classic dinner, or so that is plan I read. When they are finished, it be great I am sure. The Toast is a place I go regularly for a classic diner style meal. Nothing fancy, nothing Michelin-esq. Just you basic diner. The prices are very resonable and the food decent. It is popular with the locals, of which I am one, and can fill up quickly of a morning. I have tried most everything on the menu and haven't had anything would order again. My go to is two eggs, over medium with bacon, hash browns, and a coffee. If you know the movie Dirty Harry and the scene where Callahan goes in to the diner in San Fransisco to get his usual cup of coffee, then you should have some idea of the coffee at The Toast. Typical diner! I can't wait for The Toast to open back up so I can go enjoy the food and atmosphere on a random morning when I am craving a good, basic breakfast! See you there!

The food was so dry I have been going to the toast ever since I was a kid I went in today to see one of my favorite old coworkers and my sister and mom went to eat and they got a server named Courtney she was very disrespectful had a horrible attitude towards them kept forgetting there stuff and when they asked for the things she forgot she would get mad and start rambling on about how she was the only one doing everything but that’s the way the food industry works my whole family has been serving for more than 13 years and would never treat any customers like the way she did I am very sad to make this review because I love everyone else there but maybe next time put a smile on your face and keep pushing because that’s the way to make money not everyone likes there job but don’t make customer’s have a bad experience due to your attitude

This is an all American style diner that’s been around for decades. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly. This is a reason this place has been around for ever.

Food is great customer service is not so good. When ordering the lady was so pushy and when i got my food i only got half of my order. They didnt even ask if i wanted more coffee or needed anything else. Food was also served cold. And Their regular customers were being treated great. Never Again. Go to Waffle House

Diner-style experience. The food was hot when we got it. Biscuits and gravy were good, and French toast was good. Bacon was a little floppy. Super busy when we were there. Didn't care for the mushy English muffin though, it should've been grilled or toasted. I will still go back for another visit.

Love this place. They always get my order Right. They Know How to make my eggs just Right. Biscuits and gravy is the Bomb. Hash Browns are Always Hot and Crispy. Christy and the Rest of the Crew are Friendly, Helpful, and Fast. Great coffee that actually Tastes like coffee and not just Brown hot water. 100% Recommended Highly.

Not much space inside and usually crowded, if you don't mind that the food is awesome. I mostly go for breakfast, I've never had a bad meal, or bad service.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Right off the bat, the place reeks of cigarette smoke. it smells so bad I had a hard time enjoying my food. although there wasn't much to enjoy as the food was very bad. The French toast was soggy, the biscuits & gravy had no flavor, and the sweet tea tasted nasty. WORST place I've been to for breakfast so far. Oh, and, I found a hair in my food. a short grey hair. don't recommend this place at all!!
