Located at a great location, Crooked Lake Bar, Grill & Steakhouse features a dog friendly patio and a comforting, classy atmosphere. The steakhouse side offers a quiet environment, and the staff are incredibly nice, attentive, and friendly. The food receives mixed reviews. Many dishes are praised: the steakhouse’s prime rib is substantial, close to 14/16 ozs and cooked exactly as asked; the sirloin is cooked to perfection and tastes great; the walleye is perfect; the club sandwich is huge; the salad has the right touch of blue cheese; and the pigs wings appetizer is a sweet savory fall off the bone delight. The cheese curds are generous, and the smoked old fashions and drinks are on point. However, some food has been described as terrible, and the menu, which uses QR codes with pictures and prices but no descriptions, can be confusing. One guest ordered an 8oz filet for $43, expecting a lobster tail shown in the picture, and received only a $5 discount. While the restaurant is highly recommended for non-pizza items, large pizzas are no longer available. Despite some issues with large groups and menu clarity, many guests say this place is a must try at the lake and will definitely visit again.
