“As unbelievable as this may sound, not a single state has an official sandwich. And after eating the unofficial state sandwich of Indiana I think I know why. First things first though, according my extensive internet research, the official unofficial state sandwich of Indiana is the Pork Tenderloin. And if you are only going to eat one, which was the plan, then it should be eaten at the Aristocrat Pub & Restaurant. It comes on a bun (mine was oddly from Toronto) that covers a maximum of 33% of the loin, with lettuce, tomato, and three dill pickle coins and a loin eater's choice of ketchup, mayo and/or mustard (I chose mayo). For some it might be advisable to share. Washed down by a draft Ayinger Lager: Excellent!!! So good in fact I'm thinking I'll share another with Mrs. AAR if the opportunity arises. Oh, yeah, the reason why this great country lacks even one official state sandwich¹ may be the same reason this country can't provide adequate health care . . . politics. In Indiana's case House Bill 1143 has languished since 2023 possibly due to pushback from the Polish sausage and fried brain sandwich lobby. ¹ According to Wikipedia the "Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese," is the only official state sandwich. It was made "official" by the New Jersey governor on May 25, 2023, though this might just be due to the Taylor Swift's impending visiting to MetLife Stadium. Either way it has not been been approved by the state legislature.“

“To be honest… I’m in love with this place. Every bartender has treated me like family from my first visit. We share stories, laughter, and love. The eternal bond I have with this place could never be shattered. It’s the strongest and truest emotion I’ve ever felt toward an establishment… I love this barWheelchair accessibility: Totally accessible. No stairs, no obstacles. They check all the boxes..“

“Great food & service! Ambiance is on point, quaint & love the lights inside the bar We lived down the street from here for 4 years & only went a handful of times because the hours are very limited, especially for a bar but it's a lovely little spot. They have a ton of outdoor seating in the summertime & sometimes have a band play.“

“Best bar in Indy for local live music. Looks like a dive bar but it's full of a rotating art gallery, a small stage, some booth tables, a bar, and genuine people. Friendliest bartenders you'll find. Large variety of concerts get put on here. Pretty much anything you can think of from ambient to punk to techno etc etc. Come get a taste of your local music scene.“
“Truly a diamond in the rough. Stumbled upon the place on accident a handful of St. Pat's ago and now it's my go-to good time spot if I'm gonna be in area for the holiday. Super friendly staff and cheap drinks. Some of the absolute nicest people in Indy.“

“Great service and pizza! We're we're there for a surprise birthday party and the staff was very attentive, making sure the pizza , drinks and breadsticks were always replenished. The pizza crust is thin and more dense like pre made crust Toppings on the pizza are plentiful. I have not tried their other menu items. Family dining is available“

“I love White Horse. The chef is amazing when they have food. 90% of the time I come for food and bring my friends along. I love bragging to my friends about how good their wings are and that’s because of the chef, Jordan. She is so amazing and recognizes us. I love her cooking so much!! If the kitchen is closed, I will most likely leave after a shot.“
“Our team went to Chef JJ’s for our team building activity and it was a blast!! Chef JJ(once ya realize who he is ;))and Erica were phenomenal hosts! We felt comfortable and had so much fun during our time there. Would definitely recommend 10/10! Thanks, JJ and Erica!“

“Lunch today at the Pawn Shop bar/restaurant in Indy, which hasn't raised its prices in one long time, despite inflation. Best place in Indy to eat for a meal that costs considerably less than $10. With only $3.50 apiece beers! Can't beat that, not at all. I had fish & chips, 2 beers, & even w/ Indianapolis's 9% restaurant sales tax & tip, I only spent $20 total, & I was full!! When you're in Indy, go there.“

“The bartender was friendly right from the moment we walked in. We had our kids with us and it was very comfortable for us. The food came out very quickly and it was all FANTASTIC! We all had something different and every meal was full of flavor. I should know, I tried all the food my family ordered. The French fries were great and the Cole slaw was perfect. 10/10 I absolutely recommend eating here! We stayed at Staybridge Suites and it was a 2 block walk.“

“Just moved here and noticed the name of the pub. Decided to try it. The bartender was awesome and the food and atmosphere were beyond expectations. I had the mushroom bacon burger and it the best in the longest time. I ordered a hamburger club to go and it was spectacular. Highly recommend here.“
“I was visiting a friend at St. Francis hospital and drove by Barton's with a "Now Open" sign. I hadn't had lunch, so I pulled in to check out a new pub.The bar felt like a fun neighborhood bar with everyone knowing each other. Today at lunch, the crowd was mostly older, 55+, with younger patrons entering ( around 2:00 p.m.) as we dined. As you enter, you walk directly in front of the bar. A half-wall separates the bar from the 2 - and 4-top tables plus high-tops. The game area is in the back of the bar with pool tables, dart boards, and a jukebox with all tall-top tables or standing bar ledges in the back. The menu offers the standard pub options with a nice selection of appetizers, burgers, tenderloins, sandwiches, salads, and dinner options. Today's lunch special was a chicken fettuccine ($10.99) or shrimp Fettuccine ($1 upcharge for shrimp) served with garlic toast. The Shrimp and Broccoli Fettuccine was a large serving and very tasty, but I had to take most of it home. The bartender/server could not have been nicer, super efficient, and made me feel very welcome. She covered the entire restaurant and didn't miss a beat.I definitely would stop back in when I'm in the area. It's fun to be in a neighborhood bar where friends hang out together.“
“Great food at the adjoining Hoagies & Hops, Philly restaurant. Beer is better than most micro brews. Open space. Good location w street parking. Everyone was nice and helpful. Been here a dozen times. Food is pricey for Philly cheese steaks, but tip notch.“

“Delightfully unexpected - restaurant that appeared to be located in an established neighborhood as like one of the houses there on the street. We were greeted, seated, and had timely service. The decor was warm and inviting like a cross between a cabin and a house. The menu choices change over time, but the food was a solid "A". There were plenty of bar beverages, focused cocktails, and wine. This is an upscale restaurant.“

“This place is AWESOME. We found it when in town last year for volleyball and had to go back twice this trip. The burgers are amazing, staff is top notch, and prices are the best within miles. Whoever the female bartender was on St Patrick’s Day mid afternoon was KILLING it, even through her Keg door getting blocked for an hour and beers being tapped.“

“Very nice friendly neighborhood bar. I'm local and will come here all the time to have some stiff drinks and play pool. Free piol on Wednesdays and Sundays, otherwise it's only $1. Food is really good as well, if you're familiar with standard bar food it is on par. If you're a smoker there's a nice heated covered porch out back. Kareoke on Friday and Saturday at 9PM.“
