My friend Chelsea Haboush who is a server there immediately kicked him out than told me that he is not deaf and has spoken to her before. He has also run this scam before. While I am very frustrated that someone would fake a disability I am thankful for Chelsea's quick reaction and kindness“

The bartender made me put on shutter shades and took a selfie with me, I was confused about that but it was honestly such a vibe. After a while of watching tv there I realized the show I was watching was a slideshow of bar patrons & regulars, all wearing the same shutter shades, which made me understand. Not the bar’s fault. “I was skeptical about their move across the street - and the bar is absolutely noticeably shorter now.

But I went back recently and it's my new favorite spot again. They're known for their deep dish pies, but they have a thin crust margherita pizza now that is scrumptious.

Sometimes you can get it with pinched crust depending on who is in the kitchen. I believe when it comes out that way it's one of the best pizzas in Indy right now in terms of nailing the fundamentals.

The manager who is in there all the time is also fantastic. Just a great guy, fun to talk to, good sense of humor. He sets a really great laid back, calm and considerate tone for the rest of the staff.

Union Jack has become my go to for a place to just relax, unwind, and enjoy a meal at a leisurely pace.

I never feel any pressure in this place to be or do or say anything that I don't want to to keep up some kind of appearance. The overwhelming sense I get from this place is.. chill.

Which can come at a cost, sometimes service is a little slower. But frankly, I prefer the human touch they take the time to put on the things they do.“

“Called here yesterday 10/31 - after a visit to the Zoo and on our way to the airport for our flight back to the UK. Wanted somewhere local. We weren’t disappointed. It’s off the usual “tourist trail” but not far from the Zoo and handy if you’ve been to watch a Colts game too. Food was lovely, quick service by the very lovely Bobbi, in her Halloween 🎃 outfit. “My biscuits and gravy were served with spoiled gravy. It took me a couple minutes to realize the cheese aftertaste was spoiled milk. I've have had diarrhea all day....I will never come back. Clearly unsafe food handling and cooks who do not taste what they are serving.... in 45 years I have never had bad biscuits and gravy until today.“

“I've been wanting to try this place for awhile since it became Freddie's, so I ordered takeout. A burger and cheese curds came out to just under $30, which I don't feel like I just ate $30 worth of food, but that's mostly due to the cheese curds, which are like $12 by themselves on the appetizer side.

First of all, I want to say the menu states the ghost pepper curds are extremely hot and I'm here to dispel that. It's similar in heat to biting into a jalapeno. I have a pretty high heat tolerance and was expecting them to be diabolically hot, but I popped one in without the sauce to cool it down and it's very manageable for the average person. For me, I barely got the heat. I will say eating them is kind of like eating a cube of chewy, flavorless cheese; however, the taste they leave in your mouth afterward is really enjoyable.

On the hot pepper bacon jam burger, I think I may have just mis-ordered because I've never had jalapeno jam before. It wasn't hot at all, but it did add a sugary flavor the burger that I didn't care for. I think if I got the cajun burger instead, I would have been more than satisfied, so I'm not dropping the rating because of that. It was well dressed and juicy, though the lettuce was wilted.“

“The Juicy Lucy burger is fantastic and the servers are very friendly and accommodating. The old guys sitting at the bar stare at you the whole time you're waiting for your food, whether you're standing or sitting at a table, but I guess that's their thing. That's happened every time I've been there. Other than the rude regulars, everything else about Mikie's is great and I'll definitely be back.“

“The Ocarina of Fries! I’ve never tasted anything like this in my life of dining. Waffle Sweet potato fries with cinnamon and Brown sugar, Cream cheese sauce topped w/ Chives! OMGOODNESS!!! Then The Perfect Pizza totally lived up to its name. Oven baked Flatbread, marinara from the gods, old world pepperoni, fresh mozzarella and peppadew peppers. I added chorizo. Deeeeeeeeelicious! Tons of TV with lots of sports plus horse racing. Let's talk about the menu it's not large, but definitely has something for everyone. Indiana known for Pork Tenderloin Sandwich was a great size & enjoyed the seasoned fries. At the bartender's suggestion I tried the Pork Tenderloin with mashed potatoes, cream gravy, & onion strings. Fantastic! Full bar & enjoyed a really tasty margarita. Would definitely go back.“
