“I wish I could give this restaurant six stars! The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations.

I work in the activities department at a retirement community, and once a month, our long-term-care residents choose a restaurant for a lunch outing. Flashbacks was their choice for September, and to our surprise, 17 residents wanted to attend! Including staff, we had a group of approximately 25 people.

I called about 10 minutes before opening to let the restaurant know that our large group was on its way. The young woman who answered was very professional and kindly explained that she would be the only server working that shift. I assured her that we understood and would be patient.

When we arrived, Samantha had already arranged enough space for everyone, including many residents who use wheelchairs. She helped ensure that each person was seated promptly as we unloaded the bus, and she stayed on top of drink orders as everyone arrived.

Knowing that Samantha was working alone, our team stepped in to assist wherever we could. We may not be professional servers, but we genuinely enjoy making life easier for others. Samantha was wonderful about allowing us to help her with taking orders and delivering meals. She kept a smile on her face throughout what could easily have been an overwhelming situation. She kept drinks filled, organized every order, and arranged the meals so we could hand them to the correct residents. Because each resident and staff member had a separate ticket, she also carefully verified every order before sending it to the kitchen.

I am equally grateful to the kitchen staff. Although they were working behind the scenes, they consistently prepared hot, delicious food despite receiving so many separate orders at once. If our large group overwhelmed anyone, they never showed it.

Every resident and staff member left with a full stomach and a smile. Samantha was truly a blessing, and the entire team made our residents feel welcomed and cared for.

Clearly unsafe food handling and cooks who do not taste what they are serving.... in 45 years I have never had bad biscuits and gravy until today.“

“This is a very busy sports bar. We rolled in around 10:30 pm and they were slammed still. It becomes 21+ with security on the door. You seat yourself at this point. The waitstaff seemed a little over whelmed. It took 20 minutes to get drinks and food in. They bussing tables clear but not right away so it was just kinda busy and cluttered looking. The crowd grew by the way, later it got the more people showed up. The burger and cheese curds were delicious and a good size portions. I am sure with normal staffing and a great sports day vibe this place would get all five stars, but tonight it was just a four.“

“What a great place! The drinks were strong and the food was tasty—really hit the spot after a long trek. I’m driving from Iowa City to Greenville, South Carolina, and even though I was just passing through It felt like I was home. And I’m a travel nurse, the home feeling is rare! Best of all, there were lovely, chatty regulars who were so warm and welcoming. What a great pit stop! Usually I’m a hermit and keep to myself on the road, but this was such a great, cozy neighborhood spot. Kinda wish it was my neighborhood! Tammy whipped up a great margarita for this weary traveler. Perhaps it was all a dream, but if it was it was nice dream for a change. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, I feel lucky to have experienced this. I had the Fish Submarine and two, top shelf margs with salt: perfection!“

“Called them to host my 21ST birthday party last week and they were AMAZING. The manager answered all my questions and made me feel heard(even though I called him multiple times), and when I got there they had already reserved the space for me, the servers were sweet and attentive and so so kind. The atmosphere was laid back and fun and even my family and friends said it was a really really nice spot. Would definitely go back! And the food definitely didn’t hurt either! Was delicious for an even more delicious price! Thank you Dustin!! Would give ten stars if I could!“

“If you're ever needing late night food, this is your spot!! Atmosphere can be a bit unpredictable, as it's Southside drunk people hours BUT the service and food makes it worth it. Also if you enjoy people watching, great spot for it 😅“

“Very informal, which made us feel right at home. Great breaded tenderloin and fries. The soft pretzel with beer cheese appetizer was wonderful. Good selection of beers on tap. Had my first Hopopotomus IPA, and really enjoyed it. Prices were generally on the lower side. We felt there was a lot of value for the money. There is a 3% fee added for use of a credit card but the amount is inconsequential.“

“This is a great restaurant and bar inside the Sheraton hotel.
When I went for dinner, they were not busy at all and I was seated right away at the bar. The staff immediately came over and took my order for drinks.
They have a good size menu with lots of options. I chose the cheese raviolis and they were really good. Extremely cheesy and the cream sauce was really flavorful as well. It was a good portion for the price.“

“Great food, service, and atmosphere. I like these quaint, old-school bars. Just right! The tacos on Tuesday are good. The chicken wings anytime are my favorite. Absolutely sizzling hot when they are served. Got a basket of crinkle cuts before the wings came out and washed it all down with ice cold beer that was reasonably priced. Will always stop in before race nights at the nearby dirt track. Great job Generations Grill!“

“Been staying at the iron works hotel a lot due to having to be in Indy a lot lately. This place is basically attached to the hotel. We have had the pizza, burgers, black bean burger and beers. I did see a review their their soda is not the best and i will agree with that we couldn’t even drink it so not sure what’s up with that but we have been back so much because everything else is great. We will be back again at the end of the month and plan on going back. They were out of 4 packs of beer the last time to go and i was wondering why they couldn’t just sell 4 cans separately but hopefully they have them back in stock.“

“I travel to Indy once or twice a year, and I make sure I stop at KSR for food and drinks. By far the best family-owned bar and restaurant I have visited in Indy. I highly recommend this place. Do not judge by appearance (which I believe makes it a better experience). The pizza, wings, and sandwiches are off the charts. Hell, the salads look amazing, and I am not a big salad fan. “Definitely 21 & over. They card you at the door upon entry. Basically you order at the bar, tell them where you will be sitting, & they bring it to you. Tons of TV with lots of sports plus horse racing. Let's talk about the menu it's not large, but definitely has something for everyone. Indiana known for Pork Tenderloin Sandwich was a great size & enjoyed the seasoned fries. At the bartender's suggestion I tried the Pork Tenderloin with mashed potatoes, cream gravy, & onion strings. Fantastic! Full bar & enjoyed a really tasty margarita. Would definitely go back.“
