“My first visit here with my Indy family on 6/20/21. There was a total of four of us. We had reservations. We were greeted up upon entry and seated at our dining table at a booth section. I honestly forgot the occasion as to why we came here to eat dinner and celebrate. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful restaurant. Very spacious and clean. The ambience setting was comfortable, and I enjoyed the interior aesthetics of the restaurant.

I ordered shrimp and grits. It was flavorful and delicious! 😋 The rest of my family had ordered the caramelized grilled Sea scallops, Filet mignon, and Maine lobster tail, lobster bisque and avocado toast. They all enjoyed their meal. Our server was great and pretty attentive.

“Very cool atmosphere. The Christel DeHaan mansion is absolutely beautiful and unique. I encourage you to explore it before or after dinner. The service was excellent and food was good. A bit pricey for the quantity, but it was delicious. I had the salmon, asparagus(which was incredible), and the mash potatoes were very good. Great dining experience but be prepared for a hefty bill.“

“I tried the burger at Big Walt's Wings & More and it was seriously one of the best I’ve had in a while. The patty was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The bun was fresh and held everything together perfectly without getting soggy.

You can tell it’s made fresh, not just thrown together. Every bite had great flavor, and the portion size was solid for the price. Definitely not your average fast-food burger.

If you’re in the area, the burger alone is worth the stop.“

“Dined at the hotel restaurant several times during my stay. My hotel and this hotel share a parking lot. The Residence Inn and the Marriott Courtyard are directly across from each other. It was very convenient, considering how late I returned to my hotel after long day at IMS. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Burgers, flatbreads, & chicken sandwich options. Served very quickly as well. Everything was cooked to order and pretty good. Can get crowded depending on the time. They also offer breakfast, but I never made that.

Parking: Charged for parking. Even when staying as a guest.“

“The Ocarina of Fries! I’ve never tasted anything like this in my life of dining. Waffle Sweet potato fries with cinnamon and Brown sugar, Cream cheese sauce topped w/ Chives! OMGOODNESS!!! Then The Perfect Pizza totally lived up to its name. Oven baked Flatbread, marinara from the gods, old world pepperoni, fresh mozzarella and peppadew peppers. I added chorizo. Deeeeeeeeelicious! “The day before my dad’s funeral, I went to the mall to buy a pair of black pants. There’s often something cathartic for me about the anonymity of the mall, of being surrounded by people all set on their own missions, none of whom are concerned about who you are or what you’re there for. Yet, I cried my way through that shopping trip, lonely and unmoored, trying to imagine a world without my dad. And then I stumbled into the Cafe.

I’d been once or twice before. I found myself at Keystone often in the months prior because my hairstylist was located in the salon suites across the way. But on this day, when no one else had seen me crying, and the anonymity of it all had begun to feel more like an anvil than a blessing, Miss Sonya saw me.

She remembered my order. She called it out the second I walked through the door, and met me at my table with a goat cheese panini and a carafe of Coke because she knew I’d want a refill. She spoke gently, familiarly, aware of my tenderness in a way that reminded me I wasn’t alone.

In that moment, I wasn’t invisible. My grief was shared. Maybe she’ll read this one day and know how much it meant to me. Maybe she won’t. But I guess what I’m saying is: Some people have their neighborhood pub or the quirky coffeeshop around the corner from their job. I have the Nordstrom Cafe. And there’s something kind of beautiful about that.“
