Really, if you want to make profits outta students, at least you serve decent portion, not three thin slices of shrimps as the “protein”in your expensive poke bowl with HUGE amount of rice. I felt like I was eating bland rice for paying $15.
I like eating here. I just wish I could come more often. Everything comes out fast. Its all really affordable. You get quite a lot of food in the bento boxes. My only complaint is that its difficult to get to unless you live on campus or downtown. I went for lunch and it took me 15min to find parking 2 blocks away. But that's Kirkwood for you I guess.
Genuinely one of the best spots in Bloomington. Extremely reasonably priced and filling.
I used to go here all the time in college. Kindest people and always delicious food. Also very reasonably priced. I’m shocked this place doesn’t have 5 stars… like I googled this and am genuinely so confused. It’s amazing. Please don’t listen to the bad reviews.
fast and delious Japanese bundle box for lunch special. Come with free miso soup. Will not try any dish with raw fish.
I rarely give poor reviews but I feel as though this business is deserving. This is the second time I’ve ordered takeout from Japonee in the past year. I was excited to give them a try as I’ve regarded their service and quality as top notch many years ago. Sadly, we walked away in great disappointment. We ordered 12 rolls. A third of the rolls were subpar, 2/3rds were raw or undercooked. Unfortunately, the eel(as presented in the first picture) was raw and grey. The tuna smelled like a nearly decomposing fish. The spicy tuna and shrimp were just not that tasty. They refused to refund any part of our order, even bringing in proof of only eating a couple of pieces.it’s quite disheartening as this is the first time either of us had ever “asked for a manager.” With both my partner and i having extensive knowledge of the food industry, with food service and chef work with certifications in food safety, it seemed like the right choice to make the chef aware that the seafood is not prepped correctly. From the mouth of the worker,” If it’s smells or tastes off, it’s because we import frozen fish and our prices reflect it.” Needless to say, we’re shocked. We left all of the food with the workers after paying to have it delivered and will never return. Put your money towards any of the amazing sushi places in Bloomington: Sushi bar, Asuka, ami, or even Kroger are fresher! So many great choices. Don’t allow your family to get poisoned by dangerous food.
This place is a small restaurant and it’s super cute!! They have the best sushi and poke bowls. The people that work here and run this restaurant are kind and work hard to get orders out quickly and perfectly! The location of this place is also amazing and is definitely one of Bloomington’s best eating places. Definitely recommend checking this place out.
Not fresh
When I order from Grubhub, you guys are keep canceling my orders without any reason. This is such a bad behavior , you guys were my favorite restaurant in Bloomington but not anymore because of this weird cancellations! And I won't order anymore from you!
I've been here about 5 times now and think people are really sleeping on the korean side of this place's menu, both the korean sushi and traditional dishes are great. I really like how simple, yet amazing, the bulgogi is here in particular, and for a really good price. Service has always been good to me and the kitchen/sushi bar always looks well kept.

Good and fast food and the guy who either runs this place or is just there on the regular is super friendly.
Absolutely delicious food
Almost order lunch bento box or beef udon every time, bubble milk tea is good also.
Food was fast. Quality of food was decent but not high end. I got a California roll and Chicken Rame. I'd go back for quick Japanese food, but wouldn't go here for anything more due to surrounding 4th street Japanese options.
All fish was super dry and old and felt like I was gonna get food poisoning so did not finish food
