Excellent pizza (traditional crust; red sauce), classic Bloomington-style, similar to Mother Bear's. I've lived in Bloomington for 35 years and Lennie's has had the best pizza in town for most of that time. (I grew up and went to college in New England; Lennie's reminds me of the medium-crust, generously sauced pizza you could find in a locally-owned place in every small small town in central Connecticut and southern Massachusetts in the 1970s and 80's.) Wonderful beer on tap. Very efficient and friendly service. Just a nice experience all around.
Janie was a fantastic server, food was terrific. Half price flatbreads were delicious. Just wish you had a porter or stout available.
This is an unpopular opinion in Bloomington In, but Lennies food is just ok... and just ok isn't enough to justify a 17 dollar sandwich. Especially given that it wasn't a particularly large sandwich. I'm not super cheap, but the value really isn't there. Find a different restaurant.
Cute little place. We had reservations and were seated when we got there. Our server was fabulous! My friend and I both ordered Strombolis, and we assumed they'd be similar to the stroms at Nick's English Hut. Altho they were good, they were more like calzones (not in a crusty roll but rather in folded-over pizza dough). Overall, a good experience before seeing a concert at the Buskirk.
Very pleased with the food and service. The tortellini and stromboli were excellent. The chips & queso were fine but forgettable. Servers were attentive and friendly. We will definitely return.
One of my two favorite Bloomington restaurants. Food is always good Sometimes the a/c is bothersome.
My wife and I both really enjoyed our salads. A little skimpy on the seared tuna otherwise would have been a 5.
We ate outside - that's usually our first choice. They have the best food - fresh and delicious with a variety. We had 3 generations and all 8 of us found something we liked. OUTSTANDING SERVICE- thank you, Ella!
Our table was set up and ready when we arrived. The server was attentive and the food was fantastic. The portions were large. Almost all of us needed a to go container.
We have eaten here twice, with big groups within the last two years. Both times we have had prompt, attentive and wonderful service!! First visit was for our son's 23rd Birthday, and yesterday was for his Master's of Finance Graduation dinner!! We highly recommend Lennie's and definitely will be back!! Thank you!!

Server ( McQueen) was great. She checked in on us. She had a conversation with my sister who has a developmental disability. Made her day by giving her IU Coaster when she heard Cheryl say she loves IU. Our orders were delivered correctly. Perfect temp. We always forget how large the sandwiches and salads are - so we always have take home. Our guests loved being treated to Lennies. One guess was a Stone Belt Employee. So glad we attended Dine to Donate tonight. Thank you!
Lennie's has been one of our Bloomington favorites since college. Now that our son goes to school there, we have enjoyed getting to dine there again. The food is always really good and the beer selection is great as well. We love the Buster's chips and queso, the spinach and artichoke torta, the roasted vegetables, the entree salads, the French onion soup and of course the pizzas and strombolis. There is something for everyone here and we eat here anytime we are in town!
We waited a loooong time for our food. The food was good, but the length of our wait did nothing to enhance our visit
We went to Lennie's specifically for their Dyngus Day menu. The Klopsiki appetizer was the best part of the meal. I am not a meatball fan, but their Polish meatballs were delicious, especially with the sour cream and mushroom gravy. The crostini bread they served with it was so good, we could've eaten an entire loaf. My spouse got the Kielbasa, and I got the Pierogi entrées. Both came with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. I don't understand why mashed potatoes would be served with Pierogis (filled with potatoes). The mashed potatoes were fine - that's all - fine. They were lumpy (which is fine), Bland, and a bit dry. The only good part of the mixed veggies were the mushrooms. The rest of the veggies were barely okay. For $20+, I got 4 little baby Pierogies that looked like they'd taken 2 barely regular-sized Pierogies and cut them in half. The filling, which is the star of the show of any Pierogi, was extremely bland, and made me glad they'd only given me 4 little baby Pierogis. On a bright note, my spouse said the Kielbasa was pretty good. We went pretty frequently to Lennie's previous location. I hadn't been since they moved to their current location. There is NO nearby parking, especially since they blocked off Kirkwood for outdoor dining (not just on weekends). While the pizza oven looks impressive, it kind of feels like being inside a cave. I don't know if that has an effect on the acoustics, but it is VERY loud. It made conversation quite difficult. I'm thankful Lennie's offers these special venues - especially the Dyngus Day, which nobody else offers. However, if you're going to offer a special menu, please make it taste special. The service was good!
Lennie's is reliably good, fast and pleasant. I eat there a couple of times a month. I always go to Lennie's if I am meeting someone new because I know there will be no mishaps and no disappointments.
