My favorite restaurant in Bloomington. I'm very disappointed they no longer have their chocolate martinis. Come on, it's not like you really have to have anything special to make those, a little Godiva liquor, and chocolate syrup to go along with the vodka you already have. They were awesome. Please bring those back, please!!!
The lime chicken fettuccine is the best thing on the menu. It is amazing.

2 great experiences in the last year and 1 awful experience about 2 years ago. Currently the food and service are good and I hope it stays that way. My steak was cooked perfect last time I went!

They must have been understaffed today for Labor Day lunch. We got to sit outside and waited for a short while for our cocktails which were wonderful. When our appetizer arrive I had to go inside to get place settings, which I took from a table near the entrance because no one was at the hostess stand. When our pasta dish arrived, which we had told our server we were sharing, we didn't get an additional plate so we shared it from the bowl in the middle of the table. And when we had completely finished it, the manager brought me the cup of crab bisque that I totally forgot I had ordered. It was good, but way out of sequence. We thought we'd give Malibu another chance, but the service is nowhere near what we get at Michael's, Truffles, Big Woods, or 1/2 Bottle Bistro.

We travel to Bloomington to satisfy our craving for the Spinach Artichoke Dip. To top it off the Penne Ala Vodka was divine. Our server Austin was great. Can’t wait to return. We love Malibu Grill.

Parking: Easy access.

Nice food. Overly priced. Sport bar tv s very distracting to enjoying the food.

Vegetarian options: Lots of seafood but vegetarian is not much. Humus on appetizers and likely a pasta dish. If you eat seafood - it works well - but vegetarian or vegan is limited.

Dietary restrictions: Typically try to be helpful. We have had to ask for subs and they have been accommodating

Parking: Parking isn’t always easy.

This is what I ordered. A “medium well” steak. I wouldn’t even call this well done, I’d call this a Congratulations steak. It tasted so bad that I could only finish a couple bites of it. I felt too embarrassed to tell the server but he was literally eying it when he asked if our meals were okay. I only ate a couple bites of my $52 steak and it was honestly one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. Waiter was nice at least.

The dessert & drinks were fantastic. The folks they now let sit at the bar and curse at loud levels is very off putting. Malibu used to be so quaint and upscale. Tonight was not the same. Very rude & obnoxious folks at the bar. And nothing was done to remedy the situation after bringing it to their attention.

Overall, while I didn't dislike the Malibu Grill, I do have some critiques...
Firstly, we were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. I like that we were given a choice. However, we were led to a tiny table (about 4×4 square), with 4 plastic patio chairs, and the amount of space we were given for 4 people to sit was a bit laughable. My 6'4 boyfriend had to stick his legs out the side of the table to fit. The food and drinks are both quite costly. I ordered what I was told was a popular drink, but I wasn't impressed, I didn't finish it. I ordered one of the daily specials, and again, I did not eat more than half of my meal, due to the fact that everything on my plate was extremely salty. The other 3 people I was with also reported that their meals were extremely salty. The tab was about $200 for the 4 of us!! Needless to sat, I doubt we will return.

7 o’clock reservation, no food until after 8. Watched my food sit for 20 minutes before it was served. I sent it back. Now I know why it took me so long to go back!
