Very disappointing experience at King Dough Carmel. For anyone coming here with a food allergy or dietary restriction be very very cautious. My daughter has celiac disease, a very serious autoimmune disease making her unable to have gluten. We usually don’t eat out with her BUT we had heard the owner was a celiac and that they use a separate oven for GF pizza so we were hopeful. I called and spoke with manager before we came in and she assured me that they do use separate oven and would take precautions. When we arrived I spoke to manager and he assured me they have GF crust and that he would make sure her pizza was not contaminated. I felt very confident in allowing her to eat at King Dough after the manager confirmed their great GF practices. Unfortunately within an hour after eating, my daughter became super ill- vomiting violently- which is her classic symptom after being contaminated. GF people- be warned!!! We will never be back.Update***I called restaurant today to inform them of mishap- hoping to prevent this from happening to someone else. They offered an apology- no reimbursement.

Our son lives in Indy so my wife and I go down to visit as often as we can. He picks the places to eat. He always picks amazing places. This one is no different. It's in Carmel so it's a little bougie hipster in style, but it's busy and peaceful. The service is out of this world, polite, and answered our "newbie" questions. We asked if we could "customize" a pizza due to not liking a particular ingredient, instead of flat out saying "no" they explained how it would have to be done in order to accomplish this. Asked if we still wanted it made different, we answered in the affirmative and the pizza was awesome. They say there are no bad pizzas, my wife and kids can say yes there are, but if you want an amazing pizza check this place out it's well worth it.Parking: It's in market of Carmel so lots of business and apartments. Parking is not plentiful, but if you're willing to walk a half bit not too bad.

We ordered delivery. 2 large and 1 regular sized pies. There was a mandatory gratuity on the bill. 10% I believe by back of envelope math. Could not alter it or dismiss it. This gratuity did not apply to delivery fee. It also did not apply to delivery driver tip. Not sure what it was for. Talked to friends about this, Apparently it is also applied to carry out. Overall that feels pretty shady.

To update my review I paid $35.09 for a 14". They auto charged 15% gratuity without notification then prompt you for another tip without mentioning you have already been charged. The owner claims this is posted on the website and on the online order and I challenge that because I just searched from top to bottom and there is nothing stating this. The only way to know is to look at the full breakdown of the bill. I included the definition of the word "Gratuity" because I think the owner is confused. Being forced Gratuity before even receiving a service is ridiculous.

King Dough!! My Bloomington favorite and I am SO glad it opened in Carmel since it didn't make it btown. We came on a nice day and they had the garage door open and it's so comfy, cozy, and almost retro in there. The bar is a nice spot to come have casual drinks and the service was quick. We had the pepper and sausage pizza and the buffalo wings. The 14 inch pizza was plenty for two and perfect - so so good. The crust bubbles and is doughy. The wings were crispy and spicy and also perfect. Love King Dough - so happy they're in Carmel!!

Get out your King Size wallet! Too expensive for mediocre pizza. So many better choices of pizza places around the Carmel area. Very sparse ingredients for the price.

Really good visit for our first trip to King Dough. We ate at the Carmel location and had such friendly staff, a chill/fun vibe in the dark and relaxing restaurant, lots of fun things to look at, good music playing and just a great atmosphere! Plus we had really delicious pizza!! The dough had so much flavor and was perfect, the sauce was great and this place lived up to all the great reviews we have had from friends!! And the nicely darkened big bubbles in the crust were just like I like!! Our server Vivien was great and attentive and we enjoyed our visit! The bar area is so quaint and inviting and there is a semi private room in the back for larger parties as well as a great patio area we will visit in the summer! We will definitely be back! I knew it was a win when I walked in and they had an Alf shirt in their merch!! A little spendy at $25 but I couldn't leave without it!!!

Dough is the best!! But overall pizza is salty. Specifically their pepperoni which makes sense if you get honey added to it. I would also recommend getting less toppings, center of pizza lacks structure. Atmosphere is good. Price is a little bit high but crust has the perfect pockets, and chew. Hours are also unusual which might explain why it's opened with limited hours.

They were not busy at all. However, there seems to be a significant time management issue in the kitchen that needs to be addressed. We placed an order for pick up, and it's important to note that a 15% gratuity is already added for pick ups. The order link provides a confirmation and estimated completion time, which is usually around 30-40 minutes from the time of order submission. Unfortunately, the tracker does not accurately reflect the progress in the kitchen. We ended up waiting an additional 50 minutes at the restaurant for a pick up order that was placed 2 hours ago. Considering that they were not busy and not understaffed for the current rush, it felt strange for just 2 standard size pizzas to be over 2 hours late. It is concerning to see multiple comments about the kitchen's slow pace and the team's lack of efficiency in completing orders. Furthermore, the quality of the pizzas was subpar. Considering the time and money invested, it would be advisable to explore other local options.

We have visited King Dough a few times, so I feel confident in leaving this review. This is a fun restaurant. Ambience is cool. Great drink selection. Food is good, over-priced but good. Where my biggest beef lives is with the service. From the hostess when you enter, to really any staff member you interact with, you can anticipate a negative experience. Tonight we had the displeasure of sitting at the bar and being taken care of by the bartender. After being sat (at 6:00, prior to any big rush) we were not approached to get any kind of drink order until 10 minutes of being seated. This slowness is typical to this restaurant, so we were prepared. Following drinks, we were asked for our order (15 minutes later). Bartender didn't write it down (which is whatever) however, he approaches us 20 minutes later saying he forgot what we ordered and asked if we could say it to him again. At this point, the people next to us (who arrived afterwards) already had their appetizer. Frustrating. No apology. 30 minutes (and two empty drinks) later, our pizza arrives (no appetizer in sight). Again, nothing from our server. Had to track him down asking if our app would be arriving (???) no ask of refills, no apology, no asking how our current food is. Unfortunately this experience isn't a one-off, it's just freshly frustrating so I decided to leave a review. Order takeout, or don't order at all, either way I don't think you're missing anything.

Ordered carryout via their website so no person answering the phone, no wait staff taking my order or bringing my food or refilling my drink but I was forced to spend over $7 in a gratuity that I could not cancel. But still ordered 2 pizzas because we heard good things. First experience with King Dough. Pizzas were good but not worth the price and were very skimpy on toppings. Not worth it and the forced gratuity will make us choose another place for less expensive and better tasting pizza in the future.

Check your receipts carefully they're sneaky and slip in some charges. They automatically add in 15% so they can cover employees benefits and then charge for gratuity on pick up orders. The response that was received is that it's common practice now everywhere. It's not my responsibility to supply their employees with benefits.

This was our first visit to this location. We ordered the 14 inch big boy pizza and eight piece hot honey sesame wings. We've had that pizza previously at Theo downtown location and it was very good - just spicy enough with peppadew pepper, pepperoni, sausage and onion. The crust is delicious and chewy! The wings were the nice surprise. We will definitely get those again! It came with a side of ranch or bleu cheese and they didn't need any extra sauce.
