North Garden is a small local restaurant with friendly staff and a clean establishment. The food is generally hot and fresh, with a good selection that includes items like orange chicken, steamed fish, steamed salmon, sesame chicken, stuffed mushroom, stuffed mussels, fried rice, lo mein, stir-fried rice noodles, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, fried shrimp, walnut shrimp, chicken nuggets, fries, stuffed potatoes, beef broccoli, banana pudding, veggie sauté, couple soup options including hot and sour, chicken wings, macaroni and cheese, and braised mushrooms. Many customers appreciate the combination plates, which are delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant has been a favorite for some since they were younger and is often recommended for those who enjoy Chinese food, even if they don’t usually eat it.
The exterior of the building is nice, but the interior could use updating. Prices have increased, and there is a significant credit card fee. Despite having a wheelchair ramp, access can be difficult due to multiple doors. Some customers have noted that the buffet may have cold food at prime dinner times and flavorless crab Rangoon. However, many find the food to be great overall, especially for take-out, with options like fried rice, lo mein, and various other dishes. The restaurant also serves American food on the buffet and offers a variety of other dishes that appeal to different tastes.
Customers mention that it is a cozy place with a limited selection of dishes, and although some food might be dry, the staff’s kindness and great service make up for it. They greet guests warmly and check in to see if refills are needed, which is appreciated. The lunch price is around $10, making it a good deal for a simple, affordable meal. One customer noted that prices have increased due to inflation, and there was an issue with paying extra to take food home, which they wouldn’t do again. Another visit mid-afternoon was not very busy, and despite a couple of trays needing to be changed out, the food was pretty good. The buffet isn’t huge, but there are enough selections, and repeat visits are common without hesitation.
