“A Cut Above provided the food for the rehearsal dinner prior to our son's wedding. We held the event at a private residence and had 52 guests. The food was very good, they easily accommodated dietary restrictions and allergies, and the servers did a good job. They arrived on time and there were plenty of staff present.

This is not a five-star review due to some communications issues surrounding the event space. When the owner (Amy) and her staff arrived, there was significant concern over the space available to prep and plate the food. (This is a 4,000 square foot residence, with a large, high-end open kitchen.) I thought I was providing the appropriate information when the event was booked (months in advance) and I even sent a photo of the kitchen a few days in advance.

Despite that, Amy was somewhat rude and obviously dissatisfied with the space available to her. We tried our best to accommodate her needs by allowing her to set up extra tables in a laundry room and a hallway to prep and plate. By the time the guests arrived, the space situation had been the topic of conversation for a couple of hours and I was stressed out about the whole thing. I think the situation could have been avoided if someone from A Cut Above had made a quick site visit, or had provided a description of their requirements, so we could have planned in advance.

I would use A Cut Above again, but only if I was holding an event in a commercial event space with a commercial kitchen. They just did not seem able to be flexible and adjust to the private residence situation.“

“They catered my wedding back in October and it was one of the best decisions we made for our special day! The food was sooo delicious and the staff was on it! They fed all 225 people easily, and so many of my guests complimented the food. Kelli even made me a little to-go box before they left. So thoughtful!“

I didn't know how they would provide individual meals for our business luncheon and comply with our Covid precautions.MCL exceeded my expectations. “We had Indy Anna’s do our catering for our wedding this past weekend for Valentines Day & everything was so so delicious. We did entrees of the beef tips in burgundy sauce & chicken cordon bleu. For sides, we did glazed carrots, green beans with almonds, mashed potatoes & dinner rolls. Appetizers we did fruit, veggie, cheese, crackers & last minute we asked for chocolate dipped strawberries since it was a Valentines wedding & they nailed it!! Super accommodating even with a last minute ask. We also had cookies which were such a hit for the kids! I ate 4 of them the next day. Haha. I had SO MANY people tell me at the wedding & look at me while we were all eating & point to the food saying how delicious it was. Everyone was very impressed with this caterer. “We held our October 2022 wedding ceremony and reception at Liter House and loved the experience! Drew and the whole event staff were helpful, kind, and easy to work with. We loved our brunch reception with delicious breakfast food and classic Sahm’s coffee cake. The event space is warm, inviting, and the right size to host lots of different types of weddings or gatherings. Also, the location is perfect - the Monon trail is a gorgeous place for pictures and features a lot of cool artwork/murals. I definitely recommend checking out Liter House for your event!“
