We had heard about Generations PieCompany, so we gave it a try this Thanksgiving. Never again. We were so disappointed. First, the man working at theFortville location was rude when my husband picked up. The caramel apple pie was terrible. It was so watery, the crust was soft. The pumpkin seemed under cookedand had very little filling.. My family all said a grocery pie would have been better. Thankgoodness I had made another dessert. That is what everyone ate. My dad who loves sweets, didn't even want the leftover pie.We threw it out

I bought a small bourbon chocolate pecan pie from the downtown farmer's market and it was friggin' delicious. I will definitely be trekking to wherever they'll be selling pies in the future and can't wait to try more flavors!

Caramel Apple Pie had undercooked crust top and dried out brownish grey apples inside. I purchased a small pie at the Fishers Farmers Market and threw it out.

Picked up a small lemon chess pie and wish I had bought the large pie. So freaking good! Great find at Carmel Farmers market!

The crust on their apple pie is *chef’s kiss*. The apple filling is also amazing.

Got one of these pies at the farmers market. Highly suggest Hattie’s apple pie.

I tend to be hit-and-miss when it comes to pies, but I've come to appreciate Generations Pie Company. Generations, which is actually based in McCordsville, appears at a lot of festivals and farmer's markets around Central Indiana and is a near weekly presence at the Statehouse Market at the Indiana Government Center each Thursday. Generations Pie Company is a Black-owned, Woman-owned business started in 2016 by lifelong Hoosier Maria Johnson. Generations really emphasizes an individualized touch to the point that Each pie at Generations Pie is personalized with the name of the original baker of the recipe along with a brief story to tell. This is a unique, endearing feature and goes along with the fact that anyone I've ever spoken with from Generations has been super friendly and hospitable. While most of the Statehouse Market involves food trucks, Generations is typically present under a Generations-branded canopy. They have right around a couple dozen different pie options along with some sweet breads, cinnamon rolls, and occasional other options. Yes, it's true. They are a bit more expensive than your usual store-bought pies - however, they're definitely on par with most local bakeries and locally owned places. I love the cinnamon rolls. Maria's Peanut Butter Pie is better than sex (Okay, I'm exaggerating - it's still pretty awesome). I really want to Grandma Hattie Leota's Apple Pie, though I've never much been into apple pie and I'm always afraid to insult the grandparents. Maria credits Grandma Hattie with teaching her how to bake. Maria's a graduate of Butler and Anderson University and was working as an accountant until her entrepreneurial spirit got the best of her in 2016 and she started Generations. I'm sure glad she did and I'm sure glad she brings Generations regularly to the Statehouse Market. The main pick-up location for Generations is: GenKit 230 S. Main St Fortville, IN Tuesday-Friday 12:00-5:00m Saturday 2:00pm-5:00pm(by appt only) Sunday-Monday: Closed (Order 24-48 hours in advance)

I bought a small Apple Pie at the farmer's market. The crust was very underbaked to the point where it seemed raw so I didn't feel safe eating it. I ended up eating some filling and the top crust (which was fine) so I wouldn't waste all of my money, and it was pretty good, but I have a hard time getting past raw crust.

I tried winston's chocolate bourbon pecan pie and I think I ascended straight into the heavens. It was delicious. Wish I had a picture to share but I ate it too fast. Going to the farmers market again this weekend specifically for this pie. If I could give 100 stars I would.

Prior to Covid I was looking forward to trying out the pies. Bought Lemon chess pie, small size, and sweet potato pie, also small size. Lemon chess was a new pie taste for me. Sweet potato pie wasn't the sweet taste I was looking for. I will have to try the bourbon pecan next.

We ordered 15 pies from them for our wedding and could not have been happier! They were an absolute pleasure to work with in coordinating our order. Most importantly, our guests loved the pies! Thanks!!!
