Many casinos claim to offer high-end dining options, but very few deliver as well as Council Oak at the Hard Rock. I have dined here a few times over the past three years, and the food and service have always been excellent. The dry aged beef and wine list are especially notable.
On a recent trip to Chicago from Canada, my friends and I decided to cross the border into Indiana, just to check it off our list since it was so close. We stopped at the Hard Rock Casino, and I won the rock-paper-scissors game to pick the restaurant. I chose Council Oak Steaks and Seafood and wasn’t disappointed.
I ordered the Tuna Tataki and a half-dozen oysters. Coming from Vancouver, where we have incredible seafood, I was impressed—the tuna and oysters were just as good as anything I’ve had back home. Council Oak gets my recommendation!

I've eaten here several times and consider it one of my favorite restaurants. The servers treat you very well by not only really you about the food and menu; but recommend items that pair well with select spirits. They really pay attention to details. The really make your experience special.
Everything was perfect.

We've been there a few times and enjoyed it this time. The service could've been better. It was a very slow night and the service was just very slow. The waiter didn't really check back in with us for drinks and stuff like that so that was kind of upsetting we'd love to come back, but we're not sure if it's worth our time and our money. We do come there to gamble a lot so we do like to have dinner there.
Filet was under cooked and when the brought it back from refiring it it was grainy! Fruit flies flying around our table. Something dirty there
Good experience as always. Bonus on half of wine. Not sure if thats Tuesday deal or not. Definitely will eat at Council Oaks next time I'm at a Hard Rock.
My visit to Council Oak for dinner was a fantastic experience. This was our third time dining there, and each visit has been exceptional. The waitstaff were incredibly sweet, and everything was served promptly. The food is definitely worth the price. Although I’m not a gambler, I go to the casino just to eat at this amazing restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great steakhouse, even if it might be a bit pricey for some. Trust me, the experience is worth every penny—you won’t feel cheated. Eating their food brings me so much comfort because it’s incredibly flavorful and delicious. You should definitely try it today!
