I ordered a Super Philly mix combo. I don’t know why but my sandwich had so many small bones in it that I had to just stop eating it. There were small bones in almost every bite. I ate maybe half before I gave up. That’s is totally unacceptable

I parked at the TA for the night and got over to Philly Steak& Lemonade for dinner around 9p.m I ordered the Philly combo with a Frozen lemonade. The quality was great! The sandwich was absolutely loaded! I could even eat more than a few fries they packed the Philly so much! And the lemonade was great. Sweet with a little sour at the end. Definitely will be my spot anytime I am in Gary! And very easy to walk to from the truck stop! The quality and quantity especially for the low price is out of this world!

As a truck driver traveling from Illinois to Pennsylvania, I was just passing by and decided to stop at this Philly steak place right next to the Flying J truck stop. I ordered the Philly steak combo for just $13, and when I asked the cashier about the sandwich size, they said it was 6 inches. I was a bit skeptical, wondering if I’d need two sandwiches, but, I decided to stick with the combo. When my order arrived, the bag was surprisingly heavy, and that 6-inch sandwich was absolutely packed with delicious ingredients! I’ve never had such a generous portion for just $13. The staff was super friendly, and the whole experience was top-notch. If you’re ever in the area, this place is a must-try!

Out of the 5 restaurants I have sampled located nearest to the TA and Pilot truck stops here in Gary, I have to say this restaurant seems to have the a loyal customer base because I came in at an off peak time btwn lunch and dinner at 4pm and there was still 3-4 other customers. So I read the other reviews and I agree that you should expect to get way more than one person can eat alone. The portions here are large enough for 2 people. Also don’t be fooled by the name Philly Steaks and Fresh Lemonade because the menu also offers other types of sandwiches, salads, rice bowls etc etc. So I was in the mood for a robust salad with some type of chicken on it so I ordered the Philly chicken salad which was pretty big and heavy loaded down with plenty of stir fried chicken with onions and mushrooms topped with melted Philly cheese steak style cheese. I’m willing to try odd combination once because you never know, but I stopped coming here because they never have Greek or Italian dressing for the Greek salad. There are so many things to order here which I consider a plus and it’s possible that I just haven’t ordered what this place makes best so stay tuned because I WILL return here and once I hit that sweet spot, I’m open to changing my review to 5 stars when I figure out what is really amazing to order here. For now I’m still giving them a pretty good review because out the 5 local restaurants this place offers the best bang for your buck and the strongest customer loyalty. 10/23/25 - I return at lunch time hoping to try the Greek salad because I wasn’t too happy with the Philly Cheese Steak salad I ordered yesterday. They told me they didn’t have Greek or Italian salad dressing and they didn’t even have simple vinegar and oil for the Greek salad. That is 2 days in a row so I have to lower my rating. How can you offer Greek salad with no Greek dressing? Also I tried ordering the pork chop sandwich but they were all out. So I cancelled my order kinda disappointed because I wanted to see if they had something amazing enough to increase the rating I gave them but instead I unfortunately have to lower it.

Really good gyros thick cut and plentiful. Maxwell polish is also really good. The lemonade was not that good though . Overall worth trying out.

I ordered the Italian beef combo extra meat with everything add Mozzarella dip. I receive my food with no peppers and the sandwich was not dipped. The meat was dry And overcooked. You couldn’t not tell that I ordered extra meat because the whole sandwich was not even filled with meat. This used to be one of my favorite spots, but I have to say the last three out of five times. They have messed my order up.
There's no toilet paper in the restroom and the place looks like hell but this dipped italian beef with cheese fries is so good I'd eat it off floor and that's all that matters.
