We had a great experience with 5 Thumbs BBQ! We had a scheduling error on our end and Max was very understanding and worked with us to get everything back on track. Our catering delivery was on time and the guys even helped with set up. We ordered 18 pounds of pulled pork, pulled brisket, and pulled chicken, and 4 large pans of bbq baked beans, mac n cheese, smoked cheesy potatoes, and smoked sweet corn for a group of 60. As promised, there was plenty of food to go round with some left over. The meat was tender & juicy and all of the sides were flavorful. Great food with great service, and you can't beat the price! We look forward to eating with them again soon. Highly recommend!

The president of my company and two colleagues were traveling from TX to Indianapolis for a conference. I was tasked with finding a BBQ caterer so we could host a dinner for several clients. Searching for a BBQ close to what we have in TX was a tall task but I hit the jackpot with 5 Thumbs BBQ!!! Joe and Max were awesome; excellent with follow up and customer service that was second to none. Both brothers followed through on everything they said they would. And THEN, the dinner! They arrived right on time, set everything up perfectly, and while it's a bummer I didn't get to taste the goods myself, 5 Thumbs got rave reviews on the service and food from my team and our clients, saying the BBQ was outstanding, juicy and tender, and the sauce was a 10! Selecting a caterer in another state can be risky, especially when you are serving clients, but from the first conversation to the dinner, I could not have been more pleased from afar! This place is in a little house. The sign near the road says, "Decks & Docks" with a duck on it. 5 Thumb's sign is on the house in front of Decks & Docks.
Now, on to the food. I called at 12:04, and they were already sold out of the chicken and baked beans. We got the rib tips & pulled brisket. The brisket is heavenly. The rib tips were great. The BBQ sauce is a vinegar based sauce, so it was a little runny for me. I like a thicker BBQ sauce, tomato or mustard based. Potato salad was good. My co-worker said the coleslaw was ok. The macaroni and cheese is why I didn't give the food 5 stars. Not to be funny, but it tastes like Kraft Mac n cheese powder with evaporated milk. The noodles were actual elbow macaroni. Overall, we were very happy with the service and the food.

The food was great! This is my second time stopping by, and both times were excellent. I had the brisket sandwich, bbq beans & potato salad. The brisket sandwich was fantastic, as was the potato salad. The beans were a little "runny" for my tastes, but the flavor was good, so no complaints. The sauce on the side was a perfect pairing with the sandwich. Will be adding this place to my regular lunch rotation for sure!
