My husband and I visited this location for the first time today for lunch. I ordered the fried oyster po’boy and my husband had the grouper sandwich. The ordering process is counter-style — you place your order standing at the counter and your food is then brought to your table.
One thing worth noting: a tip was prompted at checkout, which felt out of place given that the service model does not involve tableside service.
The majority of seating is outdoors on benches, which was not particularly comfortable. Our total came to $69.00, and at that price point, I expected more attention to detail with the food. Both sandwiches were served on cold bread, and my po’boy had very little sauce — it should have been generously sauced both on the bread and over the toppings. For what we paid, the bread should have at minimum been toasted.
Overall, we felt the experience did not match the price. We likely will not return.
Heard about this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. Absolutely amazing. Steven was the most gracious host and the amount of love and knowledge he puts into his food and service was impeccable, a dying art one might say. It was only 2 of us but we ordered the shrimp and lobster egg rolls, fish chowder soup, Maine lobster roll and crab cakes. Not a single complaint. 10/10 recommend.
Great experience. Good variety. Exec Chef very knowledgeable and friendly.
Will be back.
Food was excellent, however, the short dude who thinks it's a New York City deli counter ruined the experience. Rude, condescending, and refers you to look at the menu behind him when you ask anything. Ironically, he didn't bring out my lobster bisque, when I asked for it at the end, he was confident I didn't order it. We were also the only ones in the restaurant at the time. I had him pull the order up on his computer, and at that moment - he had a first. The first time he's apparently ever made a mistake. Get rid of him and I'm a customer for life.
The best fish and chips! Great people
Absolutely love this place! Not only can you buy fresh seafood but they have the most fantastic menu. I got the Soft Shell crab (seasonal) sandwich and it was by far the best I've ever had. Lightly batter and deep fried, not greasy at all and not over powering so you could actually taste the crab. Hubby got the Blackened Fish tacos (halibut today), fish was flakey and cooked to perfection 👌Add in the French fries and hush puppies and outdoor seating it really was a great place to eat.
If you’re anywhere near the Monon Trail, do yourself a favor and stop at this seafood gem—because WOW. The calamari alone is worth the visit: perfectly seasoned, flash fried to that ideal crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside bite that’s hard to find but impossible to forget.
And don’t even think about leaving without trying the Grouper and Mahi tacos. Fresh, flavorful, and absolutely loaded with goodness—they’re the kind of tacos you talk about long after the meal is over.
The vibe, the flavors, the quality… it’s all there. This place is bursting with bold, crave-worthy dishes and personality. Honestly, this feels like a spot that deserves a visit from Guy Fieri himself—because it’s that good.
Highly recommend. Just go hungry—you’ll want to try everything.
An oasis of fresh seafood in our very own city! This experience was not a let down, just phenomenal food. We had some idea of what to expect, but the level of detail and the quality of the ingredients was just incredible. We started with the calamari, oooohhhh goodness, I never wanna experience calamari anywhere else. Next, the Maine Lobster Roll… have you ever had something that you’re gonna dream about after having it? This will definitely be the one if not. The lobster was tender, and the roll!?! I just want to put any sandwich I’ve ever had into those bad boys…. We then had the Boston Style Fish and Chips, which as I assume, with my accolades of my previous yummy choices… this was also amazing. The breading is light and crisp, the fish was the flakiest in all the land… hands down, will be coming back soon. Love this place!!!!
food is always been great no complaints running to this grumpy old guy last two times they should leave him back washing dishes. His attitude stinks.
I can't get a fish fry anywhere else now, this place ruined them by setting the bar so damn high. It's always so fresh! 10/10 recommend.
So grateful to have you in the neighborhood - thanks for making it easy to support local!

A Hidden Gem for Fresh Seafood Lovers! 🐟
Located right off the Monon Trail, Bardales Seafood (online it’s called BroadRipple Seafood Market) is a treasure trove for seafood enthusiasts! Nestled in an unassuming little spot, this place serves up some of the freshest fish I’ve ever tasted.
I was delighted to find out they prepare fresh fish to order. My husband and I decided to take home some fresh red snapper for dinner, and it was absolutely delicious! As for our meals at the restaurant, I opted for the salmon while my husband had the grouper sandwich.
Both were prepared to perfection, flaky, flavorful, and incredibly fresh.
I’ll admit, I experienced a bit of sticker shock initially. However, once we tasted the food, it was clear we got what we paid for.
Fresh, high-quality seafood is hard to come by these days, and Bardales Seafood exceeded our expectations.
I don’t write reviews often, so when I do… it’s worth your time. If you’re in search of fresh, delectable fish, look no further.
Bardales Seafood is a true jackpot! 🎣🍽️
Best fish and chips in the city. Really impressed at there selection of rare fish and the quality. Also the tartar sauce is spectacular.
Incredibly fresh seafood and such an adorable, cozy, and clean space. Everything tasted top quality and you can tell they really care about what they serve. We’ll definitely be returning customers!
Great service and diverse menu! Today was my first time trying and I was not disappointed. I tried the grouper sandwich with hush puppies & slaw. Will definitely go back. Thank you!
