An amazing restaurant (seriously, 10/10...this place was a south side GEM!!!), BUT it's been closed for like a year now. Google just hasn't updated it yetRIP Edwards Drive In...but you can still catch the food truck around the indianapolis area in the spring, summer, and fall

It's been about three years since we've been to Edwards Drive In however, my wife and I decided to have supper there after seeing Sherman at Fox59 visiting live on the morning news. We went on Saturday Nov 13th 2021 at 5:30 pm. We ordered the tenderloins with a side of onion rings. The Tenderloin was big but not very thick and we both thought it was tasteless and bland. All other Tenderloins I've had, have at least some measure of seasoning in the breading or a rub used on the loin as it is tenderized. Edwards Tenderloins unfortunately have no seasoning whatsoever. Even the Onion Rings were bland and a bit oily. In addition to this, the restaurant has done away with "Basket" deals and their menu is now A'la Carte. Even the condiments you must pay for separately and no more drink refills. I'm not sure if this is something done to survive this economy during the Covid pandemic but at least they should be honest with their patrons and not blame things on non existent government mandates at least for drink refills. Every other restaurant in Marion county and Indianapolis give free refills. I can appreciate the challenges Edwards has faced over the last 19 months however, they absolutely need to be honest to their faithful customers. In the last week, Edwards Drive In was awarded by the local Fox 59 TV station the title of "Best of Indy" for their Pork Tenderloin sandwiches. As unofficial as this recognition is, I still find it hard to believe that Edwards Tenderloin could ever stand up to an actual organized competition with other restaurants who serve the Pork Tenderloin sandwich. The fact that they have very loyal local patrons and have been in business for 60 years was the real push behind this TV station award. I don't recommend Edwards Drive In...

I went because it was voted the best tenderloin on Fox59. Tenderloin had no taste. The crust fell off. Had 2 pay for each topping. Each condiment was a small quirt. Couldn't see the mustard or mayo when bun was lifted. Onion rings was the only thing that tasted descent. Very disappointed.

I like the old diner look and nostalgia at Edwards. Interesting location with plenty of space around it. Tried the Indy staple of pork tenderloin sandwich, homemade root beer, and onion rings. The onion rings were amazing! The root beer was really good, but the pork tenderloin sandwich was very disappointing. It seemed undercooked and the outside of it was very dry. The bun and fixings tasted good but it is hard to get over the poor taste of the tenderloin itself. Would still highly recommend this place for the nostalgia and the onion rings and the root beer!

The food that I had at Edwards was exceptional I had the fried shrimp and onion rings. It was delivered to my car like the old days of the CarHop and I enjoyed it a great deal. It was just a little pricey but a little better than fast food I enjoyed it I recommend it.

Coney dog was great as were the onion rings. The tenderloin was subpar. It reminded me of a thin pork fritter from elementary school. Rootbeer was great however they offer no refills on drinks because of covid.

Great food all the way around. I got the tenderloin and onion rings. I still think mug and buns onion rings are better. At least Edward's does not use fritters for their tenderloins. The strawberry shake was superb as well.

Tenderloins and onion rings were a little better than average. Chili was a little bit Bland for me. Crinkle fries were basically like the frozen ones but okay. Price was definitely reasonable

Root beer in a frosted mug was fantastic. Food was excellent and service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend it.

This place has a special place in my heart. it was the first real job I had. I started as a carhop at 14! I love that they still make their own rootbeer, their tenderloins are delicious, I love the grilled and the onion rings are still the best ever

Tried the tenderloin sandwich. Typical fare of taking a 3-4 oz. piece of pork and smashing it to paper thin. The result, more breading than pork.Onion rings, delicious!Their new policy of "no refills on drinks" is very disappointing. The primary reason for going is the root beer.
