It’s a Chinese buffet, no gourmet but not awful, these reviews are hilarious. It hasn’t been open forever though and they haven’t updated google

My family use to meet there at least 2 Fridays a month. The servers are VERY sweet and friendly. The food was always great and the atmosphere was perfect for our family members to visit with each other. Never felt like we were being hurried out like another buffet in town. I would recommend going there especially if you have a big group!

I didnt even eat. Came for dinner around 6pm. All of the food was glazed over and barely steaming. The Mac and cheese was so dry it looked like box of uncooked noodles sitting in cheese. This place used to be so good and I'd recommend all my friends to go. However something has happened and the care for the food has greatly declined and it shows.

FYI Sunday 12/18/2022 was Formosa's last day they will be closing the doors for good.

A good Chinese restaurant, definitely recommend sitting down and eating rather than the buffet. Food service was quick and tasted quite good! Portions were perfect

I was just there literally anything that's supposed to have been hot was cold I even put a couple pieces of the food in the waitress's hand she agreed and then she told me to leave it was easier that way. Evidently the Spanish that come in there for lunch we'll eat anything cold or hot. Never again

I have been to Formosa since they opened and it use to be so nice, clean, good food, and friendly staff. I haven't been in a few years so I picked yo go here today with my 3 granddaughters (twins - 5 yrs) and 11 year old. OMG what has happened to this place?? When I walked in I should have gone with the signs and turned and walked right out. The place has really gone down hill. We stayed and ate and I am so mad that I didn't go some where else to spend my money. The food was not good, the twins barely ate because by the time we got yo the table the food was cold. They absolutely love Mac n cheese and didn't eat it. One said, ewww it's cold and the chicken is hard and she was absolutely right. We needed a microwave to warm our food before we ate it. The melons had absolutely no flavor and the display of food just look horrible. Food is suppose to be appealing to the eyes and instead it looked like it had been sitting there since the afternoon shift. When we were seated I had to ask to have the seat vleaned because there was food all in the seat from the previous customers. I asked 2 employees where were the customers and they sooooo rudely just pointed instead of being friendly and talking to me and/or showing me where it was located. I kept looking and finally found it. I said to the young man thanks alot for just pointing instead of telling me where it is. Other customers heard me and one customer asked me if I had found it and I said yes, thank you. None of us finished our plated and left there still hungry and im out of $54.00 (wasted money & angry ). Always pay attention to the signs and your first impression & gut feeling. I will NEVER return (after all these years) and spend my hard earned dollars. No support from me and I will NOT recommend them to anyone. It's bad enough that the food was horrible but the awful customer service put the icing on the cake

We used to frequent this place first few years it was open. Decent alternative to their direct competitor on 96th St. back in the day. We decided to try it out to avoid the crazy zombie apocalyptic waiting line at the other place. Our waitress was courteous and pleasant...no issues there. The variety of food was pretty much the same, BUT!!! One of the most important issue experienced was with the unsanitary conditions such as serving spoons (handle and all) in the rice and no employee around monitoring and replacing food/ utensils, dried out sushi, and spring rolls served still frozen. The bathroom was unspeakably unkept (every stall) with overflowing trash bins. When addressed with management, the response was of indifference. Leaves one to question if employees ever wash their hands. May I mention seeing a rat chewed (not broken) portion of the wall trim in direct view from our table? This sight alone should have set off the alarm. To top off this unfortunate experience, food poisoning which I am not surprised and almost expected to happen happened within 3 hours of exiting. I suspect it could be from the shrimp and/or the combination of unsanitary conditions. I really dislike leaving negative reviews and try to support local businesses, but feel this needed to be put out to hopefully summon wishful and immediate change. On a side note, cumin spices has no business in the spicy chicken stir fry. Off taste just ruined it for my friend and I enough that we regretted our visit and that we should've just settled on fast food. So many wrongs that beg to be made right!!Parking: There are plenty of parking spaces available.

What the Formosa! My family and I wanted to try something new. We seen Formosa online and decided to try it.Walking into the place, it was way nicer on the inside than the outside, but it did have a little smell to it (I didn't notice the wishing fountain, because the fountain wasn't on so the water must have been the smell...I hoped.)The placed was a bit empty but you could see the obvious difference of who the waitresses catered too. The customers that were there with asian-decent and spoke the language did get seem to get more attention. While others just got the pass by attention. The food looked old and some were like rocks. It's like if you weren't in the know, than you weren't getting that table service that we observed other receiving. This review is not about race at all. It's about the food. The food had me in the bathroom all night and literally the entire day the following day. Forget the service, the quality of the food is my issue. In other words, if you are going to dine here, bring an iron stomach.

This was my first buffet since Covid. As expected the price is higher. The quality of food items is not the same. The pre-made salads looked like they are saved and put back out. The fresh salad offered lots of choices. The hot foods were not appealing. I tried a few meats, but some had no taste. They had a rice with vegetables but only had onions over. It was like two white rice sections. No fried rice. Noodles looked old and were stiffed.I didn't try the grill but that would have been a good choice. They had a small variety of sushi. It seemed as they put out a few to say it was on the menu.Desserts had no chocolate pudding. I expect this at most buffets. The ice cream choices were as shown in the picture. Friendly crew. Price $10.99. I am sure there is something for all. I think a 4 star is a good rating.
